Isa. 63:2-4

2 Wherefore art thou red ['adom] in thine apparel [labuwsh], and thy garments [beged] like him that treadeth [darak] in the winefat [gath]?

3 I have trodden [darak] the winepress [puwrah] alone; and of the people [`am] there was none ['iysh] with me: for I will tread [darak] them in mine anger ['aph], and trample [ramac] them in my fury [chemah]; and their blood [Netsach] shall be sprinkled [nazah] upon my garments [beged], and I will stain [ga'al] all my raiment [malbuwsh].

The deliverer of the world returns, but how does He return?

Does He return amid celebrations, parades, pomp and music? Does He receive grand exposure from the media, who are all lined up to greet Him, and get that exclusive interview? Now that you are back, how do you feel about returning to earth?

Will the city streets and country highways be lined with people, dressed up as though they are coming out to see a movie star for the first time, in person? Can we have your autograph? Loved your book. Read it three times.

As Isaiah sees the Lord returning, He sees Him initially in all of His glory, but then he looks closer and sees red stains all over His clothing. But, more than just stains, these stains are saturated by something, something that a person would have to be standing deep in, in order to get such stains.

When the grapes are in season, and brought into the wine stations, they are poured into a large tub like area and generally, several folks get into the huge tub, and begin stepping on the grapes. They work their legs and feet, up and down, trying to crush every single grape. The juices flow out of the grapes down to the bottom of the tub where there is a drain hole. That drain channels the juice out into huge vats.

The juice from the grapes splash from both being stepped on, and from the splashing into their drain vats, as the vats fill up and as the flow of the juice increases. The feet, the legs, the arms, even every part of ones body is splattered by the juices.

The people, either men or women, attack the grapes, intending to get every drop of juice out of them. No juice is to be left in them. They are to be squeezed and squashed, repeatedly, again and again, until there is nothing left for the grapes to give up.

And this is the picture of the return of our Lord.

No music, no cheering crowds, no parades, no interviews, no book deals.

The grapes are the millions of people who have defiantly rejected God, Christ, and truth. People who have been so negative toward truth, that they have, on their own, pushed humanity to the very brink of annihilation.

The winepress, the repeated stepping on with the feet, is Gods wrath, Gods judgment on evil. There will not be a group of people doing this work, but Christ alone will issue the actions of judgment.

Judgment is said to occur in a day. The Day of the Lord. But timeframe is of no significance here. When the Lord redeems, it is referred to as a year. The Year of Redemption. A year is far longer than a day. God gives people a great deal of time to repent and change their ways, and a very brief timeframe when their time has run out.

Redemption is very patient. Redemption allows human history to run its full course.

Judgment is quick. When all that can be done, has been done, then God is quick to act. And act He does. Jesus Christ controls history. When He throws the lever of history into a new gear, changes happen fast, very fast. And the changes are dramatic.

The Lord restored the earth in six days. The Lord destroyed all breathing life that walked on the planet in forty days and forty nights, or even less actually. Only eight people survived that flood. The Lord was judged for all of the sins of humanity while hanging on the Cross, for three hours. When the Rapture occurs, the Lord will remove all Church Age believers in less than the blink of an eye. When He returns a second time, He will destroy all evil mankind in seconds, if not instantly.

And here is that picture of a dying and evil generation of humanity.

The greeting that Christ will receive from planet earth will be one of aggressive rage and violence.

Christ will lash out, issuing a single command and all of evil humanity will die a horrible, painful, and terrifying death. The blood stains on His clothing are the symbolic expression of the extreme and thorough actual violence of this last act of judgment against evil mankind.

Why are your clothes red with Blood? Because humanity has reached its fullness of time, and its evil has overflowed the point of no return.

Human history does not have an unlimited timeframe. Human history will not continue forever, under its own steam. There is an appointed time, when all of human history will be brought to a crushing halt.

And so it is with your individual life. You will not live forever in this life. Your life font has a certain number of allocated days. You can choose to live them anyway you wish, but know for certain, that one day God will call for your life, and after that, you will not have another opportunity to advance in your spiritual life.
