Isaiah 10:8

8 For he saith, ['amar] Are not my princes [sar] altogether [yachad] kings [melek]? KJV-Interlinear

8 For it says, "Are not my princes all kings? NASB

And so the leadership of Assyria boasts not only of his own power, but he boasts of the power and rank of his highest officials.

Having conquered many lands, high ranking officials are rewarded with governor posts of those conquered lands.

The governors are as kings within the provinces over which they are given rule.

The king of Assyria refers to them as princes being kings, and of himself as the overall king, namely a king of kings.

This is similar and exactly like the boast of Satan of whom wanted to be like the most high, thus behind the invasion plans of Assyria, is Satan himself.

All of this is inferred, as in the coming verses, God controls history, but also incorporates the plans of man within Gods own plan to accomplish not mans plans, not Satan's plan, but Gods plan.

God has a plan of truth and blessings for all believers in history to inherit eternity.

Assyria, has its own plans to conquer its neighbors and rule the known world.

Gods plan is eternal. Mans plan is temporary lasting only ones own lifetime, at best. Satan's plan exists only for the duration of history.

Assyria, is not referred to as a man, but as 'he,' a general non-descriptive term promoting arrogance and lust, describing the collective total attitude of the people of the nation, and of all people who oppose God, in general.

All of the people who participate in the invading force, all of the people who support but remain home, all of the people who are jointly against Samaria, and Judah and all other nations that will be invaded, all hunger for the victory and spoil to be taken from those who rightfully possess their own possessions.

Motivated and propelled by greed and power or position, all of humanity, especially these specific empires, have their own plans, short term plans at that, for their own selfishness.

But God has a greater plan, which overrides and even incorporates mans futile plans, making all things work together for Gods just end.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
