Isaiah 5:27

http://www.dailybiblestudy.org

27 None shall be weary [`ayeph] nor stumble [kashal] among them; none shall slumber [nuwm] nor sleep; [yashen] neither shall the girdle ['ezowr] of their loins [chalats] be loosed, [pathach] nor the latchet [sarowk] of their shoes [na`al] be broken: [nathaq] KJV-Interlinear

27 No one in it is weary or stumbles, None slumbers or sleeps; Nor is the belt at its waist undone, Nor its sandal strap broken. NASB

When the time comes for the destruction of Judah, God will call upon the armies of the world, and there will be no end to the anxiousness of those willing to come and to destroy.

Throughout history the Middle East has been overrun time and time again. It is the single most fought over piece of real estate than anywhere else in the entire world.

And in the final days, during the Tribulation, this prophecy will finally come true. The armies of the world will be eager to advance on the Middle East, seeking to destroy Israel and everything else in their path.

No slumber, means that their purpose will not be hindered even with a simple rest. No sleep means that those armies will advance with but one objective and purpose, with impatience to destroy.

Girdle loosed, or belt loosed, indicates that they will be well equipped and armed and fully prepared for the battle.

Shoe latchet not broken, indicates that even their footwear will be in very good condition.

But now review this picture in its Tribulation context.

As the Tribulation nears its end, the greater portion of the world will be destroyed. Starvation will be rampant around the planet. The economies of the world will have already collapsed.

And yet, these armies, from all over the world will be well equipped, and motivated in their hate of Israel, so much so that they will kill each other off in their attempt to destroy Israel. Their modes of transportation will still be intact.

As the world has been dying literally, and starving and suffering under the most horrific conditions, the governments of the world will be maintaining their armies and building them up, as the greater masses suffer.

All priorities will be focused on the destruction of Israel, not on rebuilding, not on God, not on truth, no on any form of recovery plan for business or jobs or agriculture or anything else except for escalating all efforts toward the last great battle of history.

The remainder of this chapter describes the condition of those armies.
