Isaiah 3:2

2 The mighty man, [gibbowr] and the man ['iysh] of war, [milchamah] the judge, [shaphat] and the prophet, [nabiy'] and the prudent, [qacam] and the ancient, [zaqen]KJV-Interlinear

2 The mighty man and the warrior, The judge and the prophet, The diviner and the elder, NASB

And who will rise above Gods judgment, and lead himself or the people out of harms way? No one.

And so in this verse and in the next few verses, Isaiah describes all categories of people to whom the national leadership, to whom the people in general look to, for advice and counsel, and wisdom to resolve their many problems.

But as the Bible declares in certain terms, there is no defense, no answer, nothing that humanity can do to avoid Gods judgment, once God has been ignored and disregarded, or even declared obsolete.

When people turn against God, their only destiny or future is disaster and loss and great sorrow.

God is truth and God is blessing. Jesus Christ is our only means of access to God, for He is God in the flesh.

The mighty man of war, or the hero, does not restrict this category to the strong or the courageous, but to the person who has attained some semblance of worldly eminence or stature or reputation.

The judge and the prudent, describes those who have credentials that people accept as wisdom or decision makers or counselors. This can include teachers or professors, court judges, licensed professionals, and such. It also includes those who would be viewed as wise, such as diviners or soothsayers. These are people who are consulted in times of trouble, to see the future, to see if this option or that option will be successful or victorious.

The ancient, refers to the old or the elderly, or those of whom it is traditionally assumed to be wise due to their long life and education and broad experience in many types of circumstances. This view is one of tradition, whereas the former generations circumstances and decisions are used as guidelines for todays circumstances.

But in the situation of Gods judgment, all human viewpoints will prove to be useless and impotent.

Because man, by mans own decisions, rejects Gods views, which views are truth, but man in rejecting truth, chooses lies. For the absence of truth is the lie and in the lie there is no truth.

And in the lie there is only delusion and false realities.

So, when God is rejected, then courage or eminence, beliefs or academic opinion, age or tradition, none of these will help in times of trouble.

There is only one source of help, and that is Bible doctrine, or the content of the scriptures, studied on a daily basis such that you can learn, and know, and understand and therefore be able to discern between the delusion and the realities of life.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
