Eze. 39:27
27 When I have brought them again [shuwb] from the people [`am], and
gathered [qabats] them out of their enemies ['oyeb]' lands ['erets], and am
sanctified [qadash] in them in the sight [`ayin] of many [rab] nations [gowy]; KJV-Interlinear
27 When I bring them back from the peoples and gather them
from the lands of their enemies, then I shall be sanctified through them in the
sight of the many nations. NASB
Today
there are many religions in the world. Since
the beginning, from the time of Adam, there have been cults and beliefs that
range from totally ignoring God, to making various objects in nature, as
deities.
Four
major religions have survived history.
Hinduism and Buddhism are the two oldest. Then there is Judaism, and in the seventh
century A.D., Islam came onto the scene.
Of
course, throughout history there have been lots of gods and goddesses, and even
today, science and technology, even politics, are made into a type of deity. In fact, there are so many beliefs today,
that you could set up a banquet of gods and pick out, or create, the belief of
your choosing.
All
of these beliefs of course are false.
They are inventions of the imagination, or they are enhancements of an
original belief, such as Judaism or Islam, made into something a bit more
compatible with mans lusts or comfort levels.
Both
Judaism and Islam claim roots from the Bible.
But, they both reject Christ and split off into various forms of absurd
ideology.
Christianity,
on the other hand, is not a religion.
Christianity is a relationship with God, through the person of Jesus
Christ. All religions and beliefs out
there in the world, reject Christ, and they would prefer to give mankind a
direct access to God the Father, or some higher form of being, through mans own
works or efforts, and apart from Christ.
The
major difference here is that Christ s work is perfect, and mans works are
not. Holiness is purity, in its truest
sense. Holiness is the combination of
righteousness and justice. Righteousness
is perfection, no blemish, no defect, no sin, no arrogance and so forth. Justice is the cleansing process of filth,
thus taking something that is dirty, filthy, tainted in any way, and restoring
it back to a state of perfection.
A
filthy thing, humanity, lacks the ability to cleanse itself. Someone else has to do the washing. And that someone else, is Christ.
Nations
assume sovereign rights in behalf of their citizens. In the world, there are lots of nations. Some get along with each other, and some do
not.
However,
there is but one true sovereign, and that is God, and there is but one true
nation, and that consists of believers of Christ.
All
other nations of the world stand symbolically as an opposition to Gods
will. The nations of the world have their
own will, and that will is never worthy.
And
now, for our verse. Bet you thought we
weren t going to get there.
At
the Second Advent, Christ will defeat the nations. Everyone in opposition to God, and to
truth. He will then re-gather those
citizens of His nation, believers, back to Himself.
This
in effect sanctifies Himself, or sets Himself apart from all of the false
beliefs of history. No other religion
can save humanity or its followers. In
fact all of the religions combined come very close to destroying humanity.
Sanctification
is the action of setting apart, or separating out from the pack. We have lots of opinions in this world. And God has His opinion. His is right, all others are not.
With
evil basically gone, then Gods judgment, which is an act of justice, will have
cleansed all of the filth of sin and human opinion away from the world, and out
from societies thinking.
Holy
is what is left. The world will begin
the Millennium without religion, without filth, without defects of any kind.
Now is the time to post a prayer.
End Of Lesson
Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
