Eze. 39:11-16
11 And it shall come to pass in that day [yowm], that I will give [nathan]
unto Gog [Gowg] a place [maqowm] there of graves [qeber] in
Israel [Yisra'el], the valley [gay'] of the passengers [`abar]
on the east [qidmah] of the sea [yam]: and it shall stop [chacam]
the noses of the passengers [`abar]: and there
shall they bury [qabar] Gog [Gowg] and all his multitude [hamown]: and they shall call [qara']
it The valley [gay'] of Hamongog [Hamown
Gowg].
12 And seven [sheba`] months [chodesh] shall the
house [bayith] of Israel [Yisra'el] be burying [qabar] of them,
that they may cleanse [taher] the land ['erets].
13 Yea, all the people [`am] of the land ['erets] shall bury [qabar] them; and it shall be to them a renown [shem] the day [yowm] that I shall
be glorified [kabad], saith [na'um] the Lord ['Adonay] GOD [Yahovih].
14 And they shall sever out [badal] men ['enowsh] of continual
employment [tamiyd], passing through [`abar] the land ['erets] to bury [qabar] with the passengers [`abar]
those that remain [yathar] upon the face [paniym] of the earth ['erets], to
cleanse [taher] it: after the end [qatseh] of seven [sheba`] months [chodesh] shall they search [chaqar].
15 And the passengers [`abar] that pass through [`abar]
the land ['erets], when any seeth [ra'ah] a man's ['adam] bone [`etsem], then shall he set up [banah] a sign [tsiyuwn] by ['etsel] it, till the buriers [qabar]
have buried [qabar] it in the valley [gay'] of Hamongog [Hamown Gowg].
16 And also the name [shem] of the city [`iyr] shall be
Hamonah [Hamownah]. Thus shall they cleanse [taher] the land ['erets]. KJV-Interlinear
11 And it will come about on that day that I shall give Gog
a burial ground there in Israel,
the valley of those who pass by east of the sea, and it will block off the
passers-by. So they will bury Gog there with all his multitude, and they will
call it the valley
of Hamon-gog. 12 For seven months the house of Israel will be
burying them in order to cleanse the land. 13 Even all the people of the land will bury
them; and it will be to their renown on the day that I glorify Myself,
declares the Lord GOD. 14 And they will
set apart men who will constantly pass through the land, burying those who were
passing through, even those left on the surface of the ground, in order to
cleanse it. At the end of seven months they will make a search. 15 And as those who pass through the land
pass through and anyone sees a man's bone, then he will set up a marker by it
until the buriers have buried it in the valley of Hamon-gog. 16 And even the name of the city will be
Hamonah. So they will cleanse the land. ' NASB
In
Revelation 14:20, we studied the magnitude of the slaughter of the enemy forces
in Israel. The blood will flow as high as the horses
bridle, for 200 miles. That is nearly
the entire length of the nation of Israel,
from the northern part, down to the southern region of Moab, or what we know today, as Jordan.
The
dead will not be solely as a result of the battle between themselves, but
certainly there will be lots of dead due to the battle, but the majority of the
dead will result from their slaughter in an instant, when Christ destroys all
evil everywhere.
Needless
to say, there will be tens of millions of bodies. I have a notation in my study notes that
someone sent me an estimate of the numbers of bodies to make up that volume of
blood. And that estimate was that it
would take over one-hundred million people to give up enough blood to run
nearly five feet deep for two hundred miles.
And not only that, but that does not included an estimate of the width
of that river of blood. We can assume
that since the battle lines will run generally down the Jordan
River valley, that it will be in that valley where the blood will
actually flow. And, even more than that,
this description is not symbolic in any way, it is literal.
The
slaughter and death at the end of the Armageddon battle will be so vast, that
it will take over seven months to bury the dead.
Since
the magnitude of the burial effort is immense, then we can further assume that
the number of survivors will be a significant number. That is, thousands, rather than hundreds. But even so, the numbers of people needed to
bury the dead will still not be enough.
God will call on nature s scavengers and such, for their one last meal
of dead flesh.
The
description here is pretty graphic, and it carries several meanings. First, that travelers will not be able to
pass through the valley due to the huge numbers of corpses. Their condition, the stench, wild animals,
flies, and everything else that you can possibly imagine will prevent anyone
from wanting to pass through.
It
will take seven months to bury all of the dead.
Folks will no doubt, collect all of the heavy machinery that they can
find, like loaders, and tractors and backhoes and such, and the will begin that
process of digging huge holes, and burying the dead.
With
so much stench in the air, one would assume that the dead will be pushed into
huge piles, sprayed with diesel fuel and burned. Later the ashes could be pushed into graves.
There
will be so many dead, that the burial site will be one continuous site, which
will run the entire length of the valley.
It will receive a new name, Hamon-gog, which means, The Valley of
Hordes due to the huge numbers who are buried. Their burial ground, or the
city of the dead, will be called Hamonah, or Multitudes. They, the dead, will have their own city, as
it were. But of course, they have to die
in order to get their prize.
Not
exactly the result that they all expected.
The
credit for winning the battle will go to the Lord, but when the dead are all
buried, the Lord will give credit, and appropriately, to all of the people, who
will all come together to cleanse the residue, or the corpses of evil, from the
land.
With
this completed act, then the evil of the land will have been destroyed, removed
and cleansed for all time. This
resulting from the attitude of the people who now look to Christ for truth, and
not to themselves.
No
more, will there be the arrogant types of society, seeking guest performances
on the talk shows, news casts, celebrity gatherings, political rally s, and
such public venues promoting their approbation lusts, strutting their opinions. Opinions that usually carry no commitment to
action, nor any plan for solution, just grand rhetoric for making an impression
on the na ve.
This
action is only in the Middle East. The entire
world will have the dead lying around.
After the seven months are completed, then the majority of the burial
will have been completed, but there will still be bones lying around, that will
be discovered from time to time, and for them, as they are discovered, they are
to be marked so that burial crews can come along, find them and bury them once
and for all.
Evil
will still try to raise its head, and when it does, it needs to be identified
and then buried immediately.
And
thus, the lesson, of evil and its repercussions, continues so that people will
have the opportunity to remember it, learn of it, and thus avoid it.
The
vast enemy armies tried to take what did not belong to them, and they paid the
ultimate price. They came in great numbers, but the Lord is not impressed by
numbers, only in justice. And, with
justice, the Lord will cleanse the evil out from society. Evil will receive its due, with all of its
nameless faces, and faceless lusts, its due is death, decay, burial, and then
it will be forgotten.
The
mighty horde of human opinion and selfishness, will have nothing when history
is all said and done.
Now is the time to post a prayer.
End Of Lesson
Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
