You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.
Eze. 38:17
17 Thus saith ['amar] the Lord ['Adonay] GOD [Yahovih]; Art thou he
of whom I have spoken [dabar] in old [qadmowniy] time [yowm] by [yad] my servants [`ebed] the
prophets [nabiy'] of Israel [Yisra'el], which prophesied [naba']
in those days [yowm] many years [shaneh
(in pl. only),] that I would bring [bow'] thee against them? KJV-Interlinear
17 'Thus says the Lord GOD, Are you the one of whom I spoke
in former days through My servants the prophets of Israel, who prophesied in
those days for many years that I would bring you against them? NASB
God
is not only addressing Gog, the leader of the Northern
kingdom, but he is addressing anyone who ignores His warnings.
Since
the time Ezekiel wrote these warning prophecies, and in fact since the entire
Bible has been written, or has been made available to everyone on planet earth,
no one has had any excuse for ignoring what God has to say.
Scriptures
have been available to humanity throughout all of human history. There is not one person who has ever lived,
who has not heard of some portion, if not all, of the prophecies that the Bible
has presented to humanity.
In
fact, there is not one person who has been interested in some form of deity,
that has not heard of Jesus Christ.
God
gives Gog a firm warning, which Gog will be aware of, but will disregard.
This
principle of doctrine is true through history, for every person who will ever
live. People hear Bible doctrine
throughout their entire lives. People
generally ignore Bible doctrine their entire lives. And, they wonder why life is not better for
them.
Most
people simply pursue their favorite excuse for life they blame someone else
for their troubles.
But,
here the words come from God Himself. It
is not the writer of doctrine, who is inventing the words. It is not that the person communicating Bible
doctrine is somehow a perfect person, a person of royal nobility, a person of
wealth and status in life. None of these
things will God ever give to people, because people are supposed to listen,
learn, understand, believe, and accept Gods word by faith.
The
people in Jesus day wanted to see a sign.
Not just any sign. They wanted to
see something phenomenal coming down straight out of heaven. Then, they would be impressed and then they
would believe.
Instead,
God gave them a voice in the desert John the Baptist. God gave them a carpenter s son Jesus
Christ. God gave them prophets and
teachers, none of whom were perfect by earthly standards.
But,
people who are imperfect, expect that anyone who presents them with scripture,
must be perfect, dynamic, wealthy, above everyone else in this world. And that, is the most phony expectation and
weak excuse (for ignoring Bible teaching) that anyone could possibly have.
People
hear scripture and they think that there is another option. Actually, they think that they can simply
ignore it, because the world is full of alternative options. The Bible is just one opinion among many.
But,
not so. Gods word is the only source of
truth. Most folks just don t realize it,
because they never access it in their life.
They never subscribe to it, in life.
Are
these the scriptures, that have existed for many years (centuries)? Are you the object of Gods teaching?
Does
anyone have any excuse for their ultimate failure in life? Well, most don t realize that they are
failures, or that they are a failure in process, until the end of their
life. And that is a little too late to
make a change.
God
sets out traps for those who ignore truth.
Those traps come from their own indifference toward truth, from their
own decisions to do opposite of what God desires. Their end is always the same. People who ignore God in their life, people
who ignore their spiritual life will always end up losers in life, at the end
of their life. They will continually
look for that awesome sign floating down out of heaven, and it will never come.
Many
folks will experience what they think are successes in life. The Northern kingdom
will invade and presumably be successful.
But, that will be an illusion.
Lots of folks live out their lives, in the illusions of life, thinking
that they are somewhat successful, then their life ends and reality sets in, and
that becomes really difficult for them.
Their end is not pretty.
Folks
who ignore Christ, lose to the Lake
of Fire. Folks who ignore doctrine, lose their eternal
reward. Both are tremendous losses.
So,
the warning is to Gog. Gog who knows of
the warning and yet ignores it.
The
warning, in principle is issued to you.
You know of Gods warnings for your life.
The question now is, Will you also ignore them?
Now is the time to post a prayer.
End Of Lesson
Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
