Exodus 7:1-2

Lesson # Exodus 7:1-2
Study Material - Exodus 7:1-2

You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.

Ex. 7:1-2

1 Then the LORD said to Moses, 'See, I make you as God to Pharaoh, and your brother Aaron shall be your prophet. 2 You shall speak all that I command you, and your brother Aaron shall speak to Pharaoh that he let the sons of Israel go out of his land.

Moses' objections are again over ruled. God now makes Moses an official agent, a representative of God to Pharaoh. God will communicate exactly, precisely what He wants to be made known to Pharaoh. Moses will in turn communicate this to Aaron. Aaron will then make Gods will known to Pharaoh.

Pharaoh is the King of Egypt. He is all powerful and can do pretty much whatever he wishes. In the worldly sense, Pharaoh is of a higher rank than Moses. But the worldly sense of things is not the reality of truth. The word will come and go, but life will continue forever apart from this world.

Mankind's ranks and status in life within this world are not representative of education or ability in a general sense. We all know of those who rise to high positions despite their incompetence. Often times people advance because of friendships, family relations or political relations, or just because they were born in the right family. Their ability is irrelevant. This results in unfair treatment in life for many who happen to be subordinate.

Pharaoh was an abuser of power. He made people slaves, when he had no right to subdue people to do his bidding. He inflicted injustices upon foreigners. He looked on others as inferior to himself.

The truth is that Moses, who is a humble shepherd, a Hebrew, and by all human accounts inferior to Pharaoh was actually the superior. He was not elevated to this position by human ability or some human standard, but God Himself promoted Moses. Moses has already complained of his inability to speak publicly, so it is obvious he had handicaps, even if only he perceived them himself.

And this is true of us all. We look at ourselves in some diminished state. We might have insecurities. We might be embarrassed to do things publicly. But with Bible doctrine, no matter what we do in life, we will succeed overall in life, spiritually. Now we might not invent the next miracle machine. We might not accomplish some earth shattering achievement. Most of us will most likely never be noted in the history books. We will, however, have our life recorded in heaven's books, and that is the place where the correct and true history has and will be recorded. We have already studied this in some respect, in other passages.

Moses is to listen to Gods command, and to repeat it to Aaron, who in turn will repeat it to Pharaoh. The link of information does not diminish from God to Pharaoh. Gods will is clear. In life we have the Bible. The Bible has been written thousands of years ago. The words came from God to various persons, who in turn, regardless of their personalities (Moses was a poor speaker, Aaron was a good public speaker), wrote Gods words down with perfect accuracy. They have been translated over the centuries, but still the communication from God has not diminished. Today, we know clearly what God intends and what he expects from us. We have no excuse. Whether we have time or not for Bible study, whether we are responsible or not in life, all comes back to us in blessing or cursing, because we all have responsibility to God, whether we accept it or not.

Moses resisted performing Gods will, but God did not accept his excuses. Moses was not going to accomplish the freedom of the Hebrews, God was going to do that. Moses was just going to speak the words that God spoke to him. Moses was to apply what he learned from God, and that is what we are to do in our respective lives. Listen, learn, and apply. To do otherwise is to embrace disaster in our lives.

Does lightning strike us when we ignore God? No. In fact God will allow us to run our life independent from Him for years. He gives us a lot of loose rope in other words, but then one day that extra rope runs out and it snaps around our neck. Then the hurt begins and who do you turn to? The years of stubbornness, or sarcasm, of ridicule of God (or Christians in general), the judging of people because they are not as 'perfect' as you, or others have flaws, the years of stubborn and independent attitude thinking that you can do whatever you want regardless of others. All these will come down around your ears.

The recovery is not an easy one. Here in Exodus the Hebrews have been negative for four generations, for four centuries. So apathy can run a long time. It got them in trouble and into slavery. What of the Egyptians? They have had prosperity for centuries and they have abused their privilege. Now their rope is about to run out. They will be given every opportunity to make things right, but negative people think that they have control over their destiny only to discover that they fool themselves. That they are trapped of their own volition and the only result for them is judgment. No one forced them to take advantage of others. Negative people always do the things they do by their own choice. They take advantage of their better situation at the expense of others who might by in poorer situations. Thus they abuse their position.

The stage is set. Moses has had his complaint and has been over ruled. Pharaoh has had his opportunity to make things right for the Hebrews and he refused them the least bit of generosity. Now God will demonstrate just what negative volition can and will do to anyone who gets caught up in it. We cannot play games with our spiritual lives for long or we will lose sight of truth and eventually lose sight of life. The result is always misery and death.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
