Exodus 6:10-13

Lesson # Exodus 6:10-13
Study Material - Exodus 6:10-13

You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.

Ex. 6:10-13

10 Now the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, 11 'Go, tell Pharaoh king of Egypt to let the sons of Israel go out of his land.' 12 But Moses spoke before the LORD, saying, 'Behold, the sons of Israel have not listened to me; how then will Pharaoh listen to me, for I am unskilled in speech?' 13 Then the LORD spoke to Moses and to Aaron, and gave them a charge to the sons of Israel and to Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring the sons of Israel out of the land of Egypt.

'Now', the Lord again speaks to Moses. God has given him a lesson in His power and provision. God, and herein we are speaking of the second person of the trinity, Jesus Christ. He is the only person of the Godhead that speaks and interacts with humanity on a personal level. So, anyway, God further reinforces His resourcefulness and ability to do that which He says He will do.

The order now changes. Instead of telling Pharaoh that they want to leave for three days the do their sacrifices, now the request is for the Hebrews to leave the land completely. And this time it is not a request but an instruction. 'Tell' Pharaoh to let the people leave the land, not just ask, but 'tell'.

Moses resists again. He has this thing about his speech impediment, his slowness of speech as described before. Here it is characterized as uncircumcised lips, or that which the lips are unable to do. Moses has no confidence in his speech. He thinks that he will stumble and Pharaoh will only laugh as the Hebrews scoffed.

'I Am', unable to speak. This 'I Am', designates the lack of resources of man as opposed to the 'I Am' of God which designates infinite resources. Moses still does not get it. God is going to bring about all that is necessary to accomplish the exodus. Moses is merely communicating Gods wishes to Pharaoh. Moses will not gain Pharaoh's permission and God tells Moses so. God clearly lets Moses know that Pharaoh will harden his heart and stubbornly resist. So it is not as though Moses is being depended on to make this thing work. Moses is merely a tool of God to demonstrate Gods will versus Pharaoh's will, Gods power verses Pharaoh's power, and the results of this confrontation. God will succeed as Pharaoh will fail.

So for us in our lives, we are to not give up on life. This looks at all those problems we face now, and will face in the future. We can give up and become skeptical or dejected about life as the Hebrews did and even remain in our state of misery, moaning and complaining about everything that comes along.

We can look at out life and decide that we are unable to do whatever is necessary in life as Moses did. All Moses had to do was go say the words. He was not to worry about what Pharaoh would or would not do, just go before him and say the words. Don't try to engage in a debate. Don't try to articulate in a pleasing and witty fashion, because it is not the person, Moses, that is going to accomplish anything, but God alone. And God will accomplish all regardless of what Moses does or does not do, and regardless of what Pharaoh does or does not do. God does not depend on man for anything.

The same is true for you and me. We just study daily, remain in fellowship, learn and grow little by little and do whatever it is that you and I are to do in our daily life. God will provide the work, the product, the services, the customers, the friends, the relationships, the solutions to all problems in due course, etc.

Moses agonized over his own role in this mission. He was to tell the people, he was to tell Pharaoh, and whether they listened or not was unimportant as far as Moses was concerned, Eze. 3:11, 'tell them whether they listen or not.'

God will provide the incentives to listen, and the repercussions if they do not listen. We have a choice in our individual lives. We can listen and learn, or we can be stubborn and pout over our miserable life, and continue in our miserable little lives, unless of course you have something better than what God has to offer!

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
