Lesson # Eccl. 3:11-13 Study Material - Eccl. 3:11-13 You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth. Eccl. 3:11-13 11 He has made everything appropriate in its time. He has also set eternity in their heart, yet so that man will not find out the work which God has done from the beginning even to the end. 12 I know that there is nothing better for them than to rejoice and to do good in one's lifetime; 13 moreover, that every man who eats and drinks sees good in all his labor-- it is the gift of God. Things happen in a manner that appears to be beyond our control. To the uninformed, events may appear to be random as well. But Jesus Christ controls history. Nothing happens that He does not want to happen, or that He does not allow to happen. Everything happens at the right time and is appropriate for its time. Computers did not occur in the dark ages, but now in our current time. Certainly there have been opportunities for great men to invent technologies far in advance of our current time, but that former time was not the right time in history. Nothing happens by accident. Your life may bounce around a little bit, but rest assured that God knew long ago exactly what your circumstances would and will be throughout your entire life. And He made provisions for you regardless of whether you have been aware of them or not. You may think that all you have is due to your unique abilities, or even your hard work. But do not fool yourself. God placed you here, just as He placed everything else here during your life time. Your parents did not happen by accident, God assigned them to you, or perhaps He assigned you to them. Probably depends on your sense of humor I suppose. The school you attended did not happen to be there when you needed to attend, God placed it there for your benefit as well as others. That goes for your genetic make up, your IQ, your social status, everything in your life. God provided you job, your customer base, the product you sell or service. There is an even greater view of life which God has not revealed to us, nor do we even have the capacity to comprehend. He has given us information to help us to begin to understand, but as we gain more and more knowledge in the sciences, only then can we see that there is an infinite possibility of more details about the universe that we do not know. From beginning to end, God has laid out a plan for each one of us. From eternity past where we were not present, we can only speculate as to the beauty of the original universe created and before the rebellion of Satan. Even today we do not understand the magnitude of how everything in this universe functions. We can detect many things with instruments like radio waves, radar's, radiation's and much more, but we cannot detect angels, yet they exist all around us, constantly traveling back and forth between heaven and earth as depicted in Jacob's ladder. Man cannot discern between a human soul and a human spirit. We cannot even measure or detect who among us has a human spirit and who does not. Yet these are the foundations of our existence. Satellites and bread making machines, that is our achievement. Only at the end of history, when all is revealed to us with respect to history in its entirety, will we then have some semblance of understanding as to the detail of Gods plan from creations beginning to the crowns and rewards of eternity. Now this is in reference to the unbelieving or negative person in this world. They have no relationship with God and therefore have no knowledge or even the ability to understand God let alone His plan. Positive believers have a link to God through their human spirit first of all, and through their continued state of fellowship second, such that they have the ability to gain some insight as to Gods plan, not only for history in general, but for their own individual lives. This is of course through their study of His Word. For our only means of gaining wisdom is through the study of God Word. Apart from this daily study, man will never find out the truth that God has invented in this created universe. In ones life there is the opportunity of doing good. Good as defined in the Bible, verses good as defined through the efforts of life in this world (apart from Bible doctrine). Both are a gift from God. The former to benefit you as you advance in your prosperity and spiritual life to the glory of God who made it all possible, and the latter also to give temporary benefit at least for at the end of your life (without God) there will be great grieving as the shocking realities suddenly fall all around you. We can eat, drink, and be merry in the state of spiritual growth, or in the state of carnality, or lack of spiritual growth. Life with God does not exclude you from having a fun filled life. Quite the contrary, like without God greatly restricts your opportunities and blessings, whereas life with God increases your opportunities. As we saw in the prayer cited yesterday, and appeal for prosperity, security, and guidance is a very legitimate prayer. Certainly not selfish at all. But blessings in life do not come to you with the wave of a magic wand. They take days, weeks, years of consistent preparation spiritually. Study produces spiritual growth. Spiritual growth builds capacity, and then God fills up that capacity with permanent blessings. Life apart from God is an attempt to gain blessings from ones own energy and apart from capacity. We should recognize that in life there are just too many variables for us to control our destiny. Better to let God do the driving.
