Lesson # Eccl. 2:22-26 Study Material - Eccl. 2:22-26 You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth. Eccl. 2:22-26 22 For what does a man get in all his labor and in his striving with which he labors under the sun? 23 Because all his days his task is painful and grievous; even at night his mind does not rest. This too is vanity. 24 There is nothing better for a man than to eat and drink and tell himself that his labor is good. This also I have seen, that it is from the hand of God. 25 For who can eat and who can have enjoyment without Him? 26 For to a person who is good in His sight He has given wisdom and knowledge and joy, while to the sinner He has given the task of gathering and collecting so that he may give to one who is good in God's sight. This too is vanity and striving after wind. So what is the conclusion? Is all the work worth it? If you live under the bridge people look down on you as a bum. If you have a little more in life, say a job, you have to deal with office politics. If you own a little more, say rental property, then you have to deal with tenants that skip out on you, tenants who cause damage and you end up eating the loss. If you get married, then divorce may be an issue, kids provide problems, the home is a source of problems. If you own a business then the financial concerns are always with you, employee issues, payroll, advertising, financing, taxes, etc. If you have still more, then there are always those who will stumble on your property to sue you, and lawyers are now on your monthly bill list. There is no safe haven in life when you only pursue things of this world. There is no rest. Nights go without sleep. You hustle and work solving one problem only to be replaced with a couple of other problems. Worries occupy your thoughts. So where is the enjoyment? If I only won the lottery??? Don't be a fool. Other problems are there just over the horizon to harass you and your winnings. People who disregard God think that they are steering their own course in life, yet God is the source of all things, even for the negative and wicked people. Though these people just do not recognize it. God really has a sense of humor. Man ignores God yet God still provides for all of mankind. The Canaanites held the land for centuries before Joshua and company came a knocking at their door. Everyone knew whose land it was. The promise was given to Abraham centuries earlier. Everyone knew of the God of Israel and His great deeds out of Egypt, the Red Sea parting, the manna in the desert, the water from the rocks, and much more. The peoples in the land knew and were afraid of the God of Israel. They did not fear the Israelites, but their God, yet they did not repent. They did not change their ways of wickedness. The same is the way of people who are constantly rejecting God in their life, even in our current day. So what has changed in life? Nothing that would give man even one more second in his life here on earth. We boast of having longer lives, yet our average life span of 70 or 80 years is nothing when compared to the several hundred years that the first few generations of mankind lived. And they did not have our medical wonders and vitamins. Go figure!! The conclusion, when we receive God in our lives, then God gives to us freely, His wisdom and blessings attached thereto. But to those who reject God, is given the task of hustle in life, and God even provides for the results of that hustle, but in the end, negative people lose it all to those who are positive believers. The very people whom negative people despise, will benefit while just reading their Bibles daily in life and letting God provide for them as they learn and grow spiritually. The wind blows. We can't see it, but we can feel it and hear it, yet we can never catch it and hold it, and that is exactly what hustle in life (without God) is really like. A lot of work and in the end, nothing to show for it. You cannot even control what others will do with your estate after you are gone. Therefore the issue in life is first for unbelievers, 'What do you think of Christ?' Salvation is the single most important question and decision we all have in life. Then after we have believed in Christ and are now saved, then the next issue in life is, 'What do you think of Bible doctrine?' Spiritual growth is the next single most important 'series' of decisions in life. Absent these two issues, you might as well do your business (potty) into the wind. You'll get all wet, but will you know it? 
Now is the time to post a prayer. End Of Lesson Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth. |
