Deuteronomy 6:10-11

Lesson # Deut. 6:10-11
Study Material - Deut. 6:10-11

You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.

Deut. 6:10-11

10 And it shall be, when the LORD [Yahovah] thy God [elohiym] shall have brought [bow] thee into the land [erets] which he sware [shaba] unto thy fathers [ab] , to Abraham [Abraham] , to Isaac [Yitschaq] , and to Jacob [Yaaqob] , to give [nathan] thee great [gadowl] and goodly [towb] cities [iyr] , which thou buildedst [banah] not,
11 And houses [bayith] full [male] of all good [tuwb] things, which thou filledst [male] not, and wells [bowr] digged [chatsab] , which thou diggedst [chatsab] not, vineyards [kerem] and olive trees [zayith] , which thou plantedst [nata] not; when thou shalt have eaten [akal] and be full [saba] ; KJV-Interlinear

Deut 6:10-11

10 'Then it shall come about when the LORD your God brings you into the land which He swore to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, to give you, great and splendid cities which you did not build, 11 and houses full of all good things which you did not fill, and hewn cisterns which you did not dig, vineyards and olive trees which you did not plant, and you shall eat and be satisfied, NAS

Gods Word comes from God and from nowhere else. Our life comes from God and from nowhere else. Our growth comes from God and from no other source. We are but to be positive, to listen and learn, and then use what we learn in our daily lives. God takes care of all the rest.

So this verse begins, 'Then.' After all our growth in our spiritual life, growth which God himself provides, by means of His Word which is communicated to us through the ministry of the Holy Spirit. Then, He will do even more for us.

He will bring us into a land of wealth. Most people, when they read these verses, think of that geographical area between the Jordan and the Mediterranean Sea. But not so.

All of Gods Word uses many references in this world to describe our spiritual status. He swore to our ancestors and even to every generation in human history the same promise. God is consistent and never changes. God is reliable. He promises that whosoever is diligent in their studies in the scriptures, and follows His commands for learning them and applying them to their daily lives, then those faithful folks will in fact enter into that promised land of spiritual maturity.

It is a place where spiritual buildings exist which we did not build - your palace within your soul. It is a place where houses, wells, vineyards and so forth which we did not build or plant, will be given to us. This is a reference to great prosperity. We do not work for them. We certainly do not deserve them, and we cannot earn them.

God builds and plants all good things, and they become gifts to those who advance to spiritual maturity.

At what price to us? None. It is all free. A gift. We merely listen and learn. We merely understand and believe. We merely accept and apply God Word to our daily life and use it to define our life style, rather than using our sin nature with its lusts and arrogance.

The effort on our part is negligible. If you can inhale and exhale, then you can learn Bible Doctrine and grow up spiritually. It is really that simple.

The tough part? Being patient and consistent in life. Spiritual growth is not a drive through service window. It is not an overnight magical growth formula. You cannot blitz read through the Bible and suddenly in a week or two, become a spiritual giant, learning the secrets of the universe. Not going to happen. We learn Bible doctrine word by word, precept by precept, a little at a time, day by day, Isa. 28:10.

We plug throughout our life like Job, and little by little we grow up. We cannot measure our growth from day to day. Only God can do that. We will face frustrations, and seemingly endless days of nothing happening to us in our life, but one day you will wake up and look back and see for the first time, the many wonderful things that God has done for you, and sooner or later you will wake up to wonderful blessings.

Our life here on earth is not necessarily intended to end up in a mansion, but there will be mansions far more magnificent in heaven that we will certainly receive. Our purpose here on earth is to grow up spiritually, by Gods grace, and in so doing, glorify Him, because it is of His doing that any good thing even exists in this devils world.

We just need to realize that there is a cause (our spiritual growth to maturity), and an effect (Gods blessings). These two go together. Our self defined plans, our self defined compromises whatever they may be, do not fit into this plan.

'Hear, O Israel.' That is only the beginning. One has to not only hear, but to learn, then to understand, and then to believe, and that last part is generally the biggest hurdle. Because 'believing' means incorporating that which God teaches, into our daily lives, and so many skip this part. They listen, learn and 'agree' (with reserved opinion) and stop there. Oh, if it is convenient and compatible, then a principle or two will be used in ones life.

Now is the time to post a prayer.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
