Dan. 10:18-21
Lesson # Dan. 10:18-21
Study Material - Dan. 10:18-21
You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.
Dan. 10:18-21
18 Then this one with human appearance touched me again and strengthened me. 19 And he said, 'O man of high esteem, do not be afraid. Peace be with you; take courage and be courageous!' Now as soon as he spoke to me, I received strength and said, 'May my lord speak, for you have strengthened me.' 20 Then he said, 'Do you understand why I came to you? But I shall now return to fight against the prince of Persia; so I am going forth, and behold, the prince of Greece is about to come. 21 'However, I will tell you what is inscribed in the writing of truth. Yet there is no one who stands firmly with me against these forces except Michael your prince.
'This same one' is reference to the same angel who has been with Daniel throughout this vision and explanation. He, the angel, touched Daniel and great comfort and therefore strength returned to Daniel. No magic potion or touch is implied here. When we are exhausted or overwhelmed with emotion such as grief, for example, then when someone stronger than we comes up and places their hand or arm around us we feel their strength and sort of absorb their power. We regain our poise and calmness. Whether it is a bit more of adrenaline or something else that surges through us, we feel better just because of their strong arm around us. This is the suggestion of the passage here. Daniel drew form the strength and 'powerful' reassurance of the angel.
The question is asked. The question is one of conclusion ands the lack of a recorded answer reflects the positive response from Daniel. 'Do you now understand?' The vision and explanation has been given. The angel requests confirmation from Daniel, that he now understands what the future will bring.
'Don't fret.' Sure the future is not going to be very bright at times. There will be disasters of enormous magnitude, but then there will be victories of even greater magnitude, and the final victory of Christ to cap it all.
Though things are not very good now or from time to time in our lives, we may encounter loss in this jungle. Daniel encountered loss in that he was a captive, taken from his home which he never saw for the rest of his entire life. But God had a plan for his life. God has a plan for your life.
Daniel lived his life though in captivity and at times surrounded by enemies bent on his destruction, but God advanced him through his Bible (scripture) study and prospered him despite his predicament.
The angel was going to return to the conflict with the demons trying to rule Persia, the highly ranked demons in Satan's organization. Then another conflict would arise in history. All things are recorded in the 'writing of truth.' So take heed, Daniel. All will be well.
The writing of truth? Is that the Bible? No. That is the recorded history which is in heaven. God recorded history in eternity past and reveals it from time to time, Rev. 5:1. The records of history cannot be changed since they have been decreed by God, Mal. 3:16 also Psa. 139:16. Though we know some historical information, there is nothing we can do to change the future. We cannot change the world. We cannot control the volition's of the some six billion plus other peoples in the world nor the collective direction they will choose in history. To that end we cannot change history.
We can, however, steer our own future in the right direction, by making the right choices in life beginning with our study of Bible doctrine. From that study we learn truth and thus to discern between the truth of life, and the false published by the world.
The angel reassures Daniel that there is Michael, a very powerful angel, the one who will lead his own forces, Michael's forces, at the direction of God, and eject Satan and his followers, out of heaven at the mid point in the Tribulation. Michael is on standby for that action, but is on station as far as the protection of the Jewish peoples. He assurers that the Jewish race will continue through history and will never be eliminated into oblivion.
So it is with our individual lives. We have guardian angels over each one of us, just as nations have guardian angels fighting for each nation. We should be reassured, that we are under constant protection from angels. A sort of personal guardian, but even more than that, with Bible doctrine in our souls, and with spiritual advancement to maturity, we have even greater protection from God, for He is the ultimate refuge.
Now is the time to post a prayer.
End Of Lesson
Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
