Dan. 7:7-8

Lesson # Dan. 7:7-8
Study Material - Dan. 7:7-8

You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.

Dan. 7:7-8

7 'After this I kept looking in the night visions, and behold, a fourth beast, dreadful and terrifying and extremely strong; and it had large iron teeth. It devoured and crushed, and trampled down the remainder with its feet; and it was different from all the beasts that were before it, and it had ten horns. 8 'While I was contemplating the horns, behold, another horn, a little one, came up among them, and three of the first horns were pulled out by the roots before it; and behold, this horn possessed eyes like the eyes of a man, and a mouth uttering great boasts.

The next empire to follow in sequence is the Roman Empire. Stretching clear to England, its legions fought to victory with their little swords and discipline, and the then known world held ten regions as follows: Italy, France, Spain, Germany, Britain, Sarmatia, Pannonia, Asia Minor, Greece, and Egypt. Then the little horn which rose by the fall of three of the other horns (v. 8) is probably a reference to the Turkish empire, which rose in Asia Minor, Greece, and Egypt. But that was back in those days, centuries ago.

Our prophecy extends to the Second Advent of Christ, and John has already stated that the ten kingdoms had (at the time of Christ) not yet come into existence. We have already seen in previous visions that the Roman empire will crumble. The legs and feet of clay and iron will be brittle and break. From our present day hindsight, this is the our Western Civilization history.

Rome lasted until the fourth century, then Europe began to develop for the next thousand years, until the Americas were discovered. Then many peoples moved to our hemisphere and beyond to Australia. By the twentieth century and after our two world wars The power spheres of the world have been virtually set, with the one exception and that is in the Middle East. And there, with the rise of Islam, that power sphere is beginning to establish itself. Unfortunately it is by violence, intimidation, bribery and the promotion of the common enemy, Israel, that they are coming into their own. With various states sponsoring, from the shadows, terrorism, they pose a threat to the world, and give rise to a whole new concept of world power that has no geographical nation to speak of.

I believe that this terrorism will pose the new great threat of this next century. That combined with growing world populations, and the burdens of supporting those growing populations (jobs, food, shelter, privacy, a sense of purpose or a lack thereof), then the frustrations of peoples will result in big time problems in the world.

When people get frustrated and feel that they are stomped on and more or less left behind, then they turn to whatever philosophy promises them a better life or afterlife. You know that those terrorists get 20 virgins when they die. Anyway, frustration leads to being misled, and that results in violence sooner or later.

This fourth kingdom will spread throughout the world, if you have read ahead in the chapter, and that many take to mean the spreading of the various kingdoms of Europe and to the Americas, etc. The fourth beast is the Roman Empire, but out of that empire ten kings will rise, near to the end of the days of mans rule on earth.

An eleventh kingdom, a small one will rise and be not like the others. It will destroy three and assume command of the rest of the ten. Its purpose is to pursue and destroy those chosen of God, in an attempt to discredit God and win the angelic conflict. The purpose (reference back in Revelation, which we have not yet covered in that study) of the ten kings of those latter day kingdoms is to give over their power and authority to that rising eleventh king. That rising eleventh king is going to have a name which is the anti-christ. He will also have a designation, 666, which most folks absolutely destroy with their screw ball interpretations of its meaning.

This last little horn, the eleventh king seems to disassociate itself from the rest of the empire, having his own agenda and boasting. With eyes of man and a mouth whose intent is to promote himself above all else, then we have rise of the references to Satan whose eyes were full or arrogance and whose boasting was to be greater than the Most High. But this is a man. Man was created on the sixth day. Thus the reference to the number six in the above designation of the great dragon or eleventh king. Six is the number of mankind. The reference to the triple of anything is deity. God is a trinity, Father, Son, and Spirit. Then now we have a triple of the sixes, or 666, which comes to mean 'man giving himself the high office of god.' May kings and pharaoh's did this in the past. They thought of themselves as gods, and of course they were not. They were but mere humans. Confused for sure, but human all the same. If anyone crossed them, or did not bow down to them, or worship them, then that meant immediate death.

This eleventh king will be the ultimate of confused (spiritually speaking) and evil leaders in human history. You think that this Usama dude is a nut case, backed by both his extensive monies and a distortion of Islam (note the combination of arrogance, resources and false religion), well this eleventh king of the future, will combine all of these along with whatever technology and a national backing to become the ultimate of cruel dictators. And what is more, millions will follow him. His promises of better times (we studied these in the six seals of Revelation) will turn into tyranny and disaster for the whole of planet earth. This in turn will result in a world war that will culminate in Armageddon and the Second Advent of Christ.

Daniel jumps through the fourth beast, not here described as an animal, but of iron, and in Nebuchadnezzar's vision, a combination of iron and clay. A combination of man made and earthly resources brought together for the intended purpose of subduing the earth and bettering man kinds existence. But iron and clay do not mix and they become brittle over time, then they fail all together.

Thus it is with mans attempt to make better of himself for himself and without God. All the while the winds of heaven are driving the violent seas to a conclusion of history.

Man is not on this earth to become the supreme rules and authority of the universe. We will never travel to the stars, at least not in these physical bodies. Man has his limits. Just as the seas have their boundaries, and as they test their boundaries from time to time, so God keeps them inside their assigned areas, and man is so kept inside his boundaries regardless of his rebellion and attempts to break out of his assigned boundaries. Man cannot become as a god. Man cannot rise above or escape from his sin nature. Man is trapped in a slave market where only someone other than a slave, a free man, has the ability and the resources to purchase man out of that slave market, and that of course is Christ.

The result or destiny of mans efforts in history? A horn, a symbol of authority derived from the earth. Eyes, but not eyes of integrity, but of arrogance. And a mouth, not for speaking truth, but of the boasting of lies. That is where the four kingdoms of earths history, from the time of Daniel until the return of Christ (the Ancient of Days) will leave mankind. Mans legacy accomplished by himself, for himself, will be nothing short of evil and doom. This is spoken by means of Gods Word and therefore it is a certainty to occur. Gods will, is done. Mans will, will not be done

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
