Matt. 25:41-46
41 'Then He will also say to those on His left, 'Depart from Me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels; 42 for I was hungry, and you gave Me nothing to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me nothing to drink; 43 I was a stranger, and you did not invite Me in; naked, and you did not clothe Me; sick, and in prison, and you did not visit Me.' 44 'Then they themselves also will answer, saying, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not take care of You?' 45 'Then He will answer them, saying, 'Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.' 46 'And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.' NASB
There is a resurrection for everyone, unbelievers and believers alike, Jn. 5:28-29. Believers (the sheep on the right) are resurrected to life, and unbelievers (the goats on the left) are resurrected to eternal condemnation.
The resurrection of believers comes at different times. Christ being the first, the Royal Family (believers in the Church Age) will be the next resurrection at the Rapture, and so forth. All unbelievers will be resurrected at the end of the millennium ready to face the Great White Throne and the Lake of Fire.
The Lake of Fire was not made for unbelievers, but was made for Satan and his gang of fallen angels. But by their unbelief and rejection of God, all unbelievers have associated themselves with Satan and will share in his destruction.
Here again Christ teaches clearly that all those who have rejected Him, have in effect rejected God the Fathers plan, and way of life (spiritual life).
By rejecting Christ, unbelievers do not have a human spirit, they do not have the mechanism for getting into fellowship, therefore they function from the source of their sin natures only. They have no other choice. They cannot produce divine good, though many unbelievers will be very nice and helpful people in life. All their works are performed from the source of their own energy, not from that of the Spirit.
By rejecting Christ, they reject God the Father (you might want to review John 5). People do not have the option of believing in a God and at the same time rejecting His divine plan for humanity. By rejecting Gods plan (Jesus Christ), then all unbelievers are operating on their own arrogance. The attitude that they do not need God or His guidance in life. Or if they say that they need God in their life, they define (from their own ideas) just how He might be useful to them.
By rejecting God, then all unbelievers cannot help any other person in such a manner that they might get credit for their efforts. Their works are all they have when they face God at the Great White Throne.
Jesus Christ looks up their record and does not find their names in the Book of Life. All who die without having believed in Christ, have their names blotted out of the Book of Life. So Jesus Christ has the Book of Works opened and there they are will all their works ever performed in their individual lives. That book is measured against the Work of Christ, and is found to be lacking in any weight or significance. They are condemned on the basis of their works (not sins - those have already been judged).
Furthermore, since all their deeds occurred from the source of the sin nature, then they do not qualify for additional blessings, 'and you gave me nothing.' This is the summary of the unbelievers life - 'nothing.'
All believers in Christ will proceed to heaven and will be sorted again for additional blessings. We do have to be responsible in life. All unbelievers will be cast into the Lake of Fire, and there will forever, never, see the face of God again. They will be in total darkness (God is the only source of light). They will be consumed forever by maggots of the grave. Thus will be their terror, their gnashing of teeth, of uncontrollable crying. Totally alone and without any control over their existence. Only God can control history and hold together all of our lives.
Man without God is totally useless and helpless. Often times it takes quite a jolt of misery and heartache before people begin to learn this last principle.
Now is the time to post a prayer.
End Of Lesson
Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
