Matthew 24:32-34

Lesson # Matt. 24:32-34
Study Material - Matt. 24:32-34

You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.

Matt. 24:32-34

32 Now [de] learn [manthano] a parable [parabole] of [apo] the fig tree [suke] ; When [hotan] his [autos] branch [klados] is [ginomai] yet [ede] tender [apalos] , and [kai] putteth forth [ekphuo] leaves [phullon] , ye know [ginosko] that [hoti] summer [theros] is nigh [eggus] :
33 So [houto] likewise [kai] ye [humeis] , when [hotan] ye shall see [eido] all [pas] these things [tauta] , know [ginosko] that [hoti] it is [esti] near [eggus] , even at [epi] the doors [thura] .
34 Verily [amen] I say [lego] unto you [humin] , This [houtos] generation [genea] shall not [ou me] pass [parerchomai] , till [an] [heos] all [pas] these things [tauta] be fulfilled [ginomai] . KJV-Interlinear

Matt. 24:32-34

32 'Now learn the parable from the fig tree: when its branch has already become tender, and puts forth its leaves, you know that summer is near; 33 even so you too, when you see all these things, recognize that He is near, right at the door. 34 'Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place. NAS

Matthew chapters 24 and 25 are probably unparalleled in their description, within these two consecutive chapters, of the events surrounding, and the actual event of, the Second Advent of Jesus Christ.

They are written for us in this Church Age so that we might come to know that Jesus Christ will indeed return, us with Him, and fulfill a promise made to Adam, to Abraham, to David, and to every believer who has ever lived in human history, from long ago until the present and into the future.

For our own comfort, this is knowledge of the future, a future that we will not see from planet earth. We will see it because we will actually we will be a part of His return, when that day comes. As for our own dispensation, the Church Age, or as many know it, the Age of the Royal Family, then we have but one specific prophecy - that of the Rapture. Everything else during our age are the result of historical trends, which spread humanity, power, human knowledge, and so forth, to the four corners of the planet, and make ready (positioning the nations and powers) for the final segment of the Age of Israel. That final segment we call the Tribulation. The Tribulation will be seven years in length - no more.

The Tribulation is divided into two parts. The first half, or 3 ½ years, is known as the 'failed utopia.' Mankind cannot legislate or force prosperity. Liberals are wrong in this regard (their god being big government and their truth being legislation), and we have many instances where evil leaders (Stalin, etc.) have tried to murder millions in order to make things better.

The second half of the Tribulation, the last 3 ½ years, is known as the 'great tribulation.' Satan will be in a frenzied panic, because having been thrown out of heaven at the midpoint of the tribulation, he knows that his time is very short before the return of Christ. He pursues violence on an unparalleled scale.

The tribulation will terminate with the return of Christ. At that time, millions or even billions of unbelievers and negative believers will die worldwide. They will drop like flies. Only those positive believers who wait on the Lord in obedience to the commands Jesus has just given in this chapter, only those people will be delivered and they will be gathered from the four corners of the world and then brought to Christ. There won't be any radio or TV announcements. There won't be any newspaper or magazine special editions covering the event. The world will be utterly destroyed. All cities leveled, islands lost to the oceans deep, factories, industry, utilities, everything shut down and destroyed totally.

There will be one single generation which will see all of these events, and they have but to understand the signs of their time. The fig tree buds in the spring and begins to put out its shoots. If you had no calendar, no watch with the date on it, nothing by which to tell time, you would have the signs of spring. So also, these verses within this chapter thus far, are the signs of that time when Christ is about to return.

The fig tree parable is the explanation of the collective signs of the end time just prior to Christ's return.

Only one generation will see it all, and when they see all these signs, they should know that Christ is 'right at the door' so to speak. Their wait for deliverance is very short.

Jesus' final assurance in this verse, is that 'all these things will take place.' That is, regardless of how bad things are (and they will be beyond imagination - bad), He will return as promised. All the kings horses and all the kings men cannot stop Gods plan from coming to its proper conclusion with the return of Christ at the right moment in time.

Now is the time to post a prayer.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
