Lesson # Matt. 12:30 Study Material - Matt. 12:30 You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth. Matt. 12:30 30 He that is [on] not [me] with [meta] me [emou] is [esti] against [kata] me [emou] ; and [kai] he that gathereth [sunago] not [me] with [meta] me [emou] scattereth abroad [skorpizo] . KJV-Interlinear Matt. 12:30 30 'He who is not with Me is against Me; and he who does not gather with Me scatters. 31 'Therefore I say to you, any sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven men, but blasphemy against the Spirit shall not be forgiven. NAS Only one person in history and in this universe who has power over disease, death, sin, demons and so forth. That person is Jesus Christ. There is no other person or thing that has the power and wisdom to control the universe, history, and all the things that Jesus Christ demonstrated His authority over. Not Buddha, not Allah, not the sun god, or the fishing god, or the technology god, not the wealth god, nor the retirement god, nor the remote control over the TV god, not the wolf, not ancestry connections, not culture, not IQ, not physical ability, not social status, not anything nor anyone in existence - none of these have any power over sin and death. None of these can give life in this world nor even in the next life in eternity. Only Jesus Christ has the total control and authority over this life and the next. We all have but two choices in life. We are either with Christ, or we are against. Being against Christ does not imply antagonism against Him, or even active crusading against Him. One can be merely indifferent. The choice of not being with Christ is being against Him. No recognized opposition is required. Just 'not' being with Christ is being against Him. Likewise, not gathering with Christ, is scattering which is against Him. So, anyone who ignores, or is apathetic toward Christ, anyone who is indifferent, or just not interested, or sees no need to take an interest in Christ, is in effect against Him. Being against Christ makes one an enemy of Christ. There are only two choices in life. We can either choose for Christ (believe in Christ) and be saved and therefore be with Him and the Father and the Spirit in heaven for all of eternity, or we can not choose Christ and therefore be on our own (paving our own path through life) for all of eternity. This paving of our own path means that we need to learn an awful lot before we die so that we can have total control over our life after death, so that we can create our own next life body, so that we can control our environment without Gods help (because God has been rejected remember), so that we can avoid or even control the out of control fires of hell forever!!! Only an arrogant and very stupid person would even consider that this was possible. Which it is not. We can be with Christ or not. Being with Christ means believing in Him for who and what He is - the Son of God, the only Son, the only path to God the father, the only savior, the only person who secured our salvation through His work on the Cross. Gathering with Him is the second portion of our life in Christ. After salvation we can again to either choose to learn His doctrine (or not), to grow up in His Word (or not), to attain spiritual maturity (or not). To gather means to grow up spiritually and attain spiritual maturity. Anything else means to scatter. A scattered life is a shattered, broken, disorganized, misdirected, groping about in the total darkness, drifting aimlessly sort of life, with no clue as to where you are, or where you are going. Only confused ideas and illusions of plotting ones own course are real. And these are false concepts. There is no third choice in life. No other options, no other philosophy, no other ideas yet to be discovered, no undisclosed secrets of the spiritual realm (that have not already been revealed in the Bible), nothing else in life is available to help make ones life better either now or in eternity. You can seek out a better plan for your life but you won't find it. You can waste your life in searching for the end of the rainbow, but you'll never get to it. We all have only one choice, one rational and correct choice in life to make ourselves winners both now and in eternity, and that choice is to accept Christ (with Christ - a once in a lifetime decision to believe in Christ - something that you probably did when you were very young, but if not, then believe now an be saved), and pursue Him (a gathering with Him daily decision to study and learn and to grow up spiritually).
