Matthew 10:19-20
Lesson # Matt. 10:19-20
Study Material - Matt. 10:19-20
You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.
Matt. 10:19-20
19 But [de] when [hotan] they deliver [paradidomi] you [humas] up [paradidomi] , take [merimnao] no [me] thought [merimnao] how [pos] or [e] what [tis] ye shall speak [laleo] : for [gar] it shall be given [didomi] you [humin] in [en] that same [ekeinos] hour [hora] what [tis] ye shall speak [laleo] .
20 For [gar] it is [este] not [ou] ye [humeis] that speak [laleo] , but [alla] the Spirit [pneuma] of your [humon] Father [pater] which [ho] speaketh [laleo] in [en] you [humin] . KJV-Interlinear
Matt. 10:19-20
19 'But when they deliver you up, do not become anxious about how or what you will speak; for it shall be given you in that hour what you are to speak. 20 'For it is not you who speak, but it is the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you. NAS
When you have been maligned, persecuted, arrested, and beaten, gossiped against, abused physically and mentally, had prejudice applied against you, or just been treated unfairly in life, then the reasonable or typical reaction from us all is to lash out, to rebel, to take vengeance or get revenge, to become angry from the frustration of the unfair treatment we have been receiving.
We can scream at the top of our lungs either out loud or just within our own thoughts. We can blame people or institutions. We certainly often blame God for being in the fix in which we find ourselves. The tears can come, the grief often follows, then anger. Sooner or later we just get tired and want to give up on everything.
The Apostles were warned, just as we are warned, that this is the devils world. It functions as a jungle, and that jungle cares nothing for us. There is no mercy, no remorse. The jungle can consume without batting an eye, totally without concern. And we are its victims. Little pawns of no value. That is you and me in this life, and how we are viewed in the jungle.
Jesus instructs that when we find ourselves in these predicaments that we should not worry, because it is not us alone that is standing in an unfair position, but that which is in us stands there as well.
Bible doctrine is often called the written word. Jesus Christ is called the living word. When we have learned and possess Gods Word on our soul, then we are said to have Christ in us. A common phrase for spiritual maturity, or for one who is advancing toward spiritual maturity.
Recall in our recent study that Jesus obeys the wishes of the Father, that all things originated from the Father. Therefore Bible doctrine originates from God the Father, and through Jesus Christ is presented to us by means of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the communicator of all things spiritual.
When doctrine inside of our soul communicates to us through the functions of our soul, it is Christ communicating to us. Jesus Christ is Gods Word. When doctrine is communicated to the outside world, then it is the function of the Holy Spirit who is effecting that communication.
So you should see that in the formula of Gods Plan, man (that is you and me) never fits into the function of that plan in any respect. We merely believe in Christ and that is all. This brings us into that Plan, but God does all of the work.
Under persecution, some of us will suffer tremendously. In our current day that might just be the one who is receiving the short end of a divorce. It might be someone who has had a major accident, or someone who was born with a handicap of some type. This world is filled with all sorts of unfair situations.
Whether we are standing before unfair judges, whether we are the objects of vulgar gossip, whether we have any type of disadvantage in life, these things really are not relevant. Sure we hurt, but we need to look inwardly to something with greater resources, and a greater destiny, and not worry, Phil. 4:6.
Trying to argue ones way out of a situation might be proper as for example in a court of law, but in social settings those who hear you, probably will not accept your arguments. They might even become more aggressive against you. Silence is often a wise choice.
Regardless of the situation, stop worrying about anything, and in everything submit your requests to God the Father in prayer. Be in fellowship when you pray lest your prayers not be received. Fellowship is the stabilizer of ones life. By stabilizing yourself you are able to think more clearly. If you were to remain emotionally heated, then your decisions are more likely to get you into even more trouble.
Understand the nature of the jungle. Do not be surprised at the situations you might face. Look to God, through doctrine, for your life and future. Do not look to the jungle for answers. You won't find any answers there.
Now is the time to post a prayer.
End Of Lesson
Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
