Matthew 6:27-30
Lesson # Matt. 6:27-30
Study Material - Matt. 6:27-30
You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.
Matt. 6:27-30
27 'And which of you by being anxious can add a single cubit to his life's span? 28 'And why are you anxious about clothing? Observe how the lilies of the field grow; they do not toil nor do they spin, 29 yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory did not clothe himself like one of these. 30 'But if God so arrays the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more do so for you, O men of little faith?
God not only takes care of the birds as well as all animal life, but He perpetuates and cares for the lilies and grasses, and all plant life in general. Look at any countryside landscape, especially in the spring of the year, as everything comes into full bloom. The colors are all brilliant and full. And man had nothing to do with any plant on this earth. God created plant life in all its complexities, and God perpetuates it throughout history despite mans dealings with nature, despite natures own dealings with itself. Floods, fires, earthquakes, anything that you can imagine in the disaster category, has not destroyed plant life.
If God takes care of plants, then will He not take care of mankind, of you personally? Aren't people more important than plants?
Man is far more valuable than plants. Man is far more valuable than animals. If God takes care of these, then He will certainly take care of us.
Solomon is the example given in all his glory. Solomon was wealthy beyond any of our wildest dreams. Probably by today's standards, he would be in the trillionaire category. Far more wealthy than most countries on this earth. Yet even with all this wealth, he did not dress up the forests, the fields, or anything else in vast places on this earth. Likewise, Solomon's wealth was squandered soon after he died, as well as his nation gone into exile. So even vast wealth cannot stop the predators of this world.
So now, why worry? Many people worry constantly, day after day, year after year. They do not catch on that they are still alive, still breathing. Though problems come and go, there are always solutions, which come and go, as well as still more problems, and the cycle continues.
God sits back and watches you cycle through your problems and His provisions, and waits for you to discover that your worrying has not, can not, and will never add anything to your life's solutions. If anything, worry is a distraction in your life and takes away from your true potential spiritual growth. Worry serves to defeat you, and you do it all to yourself.
What do we worry about? Our future, our marriage, getting the car fixed, sales for next month, the gossip of a pending layoff, the kids getting into trouble, the order placed over the phone not getting here on time, finding work, and the list continues.
Then there are some real worries if you live in troubled places in this world like in the Balkans or Africa, where you have real possibilities of finding yourself in a mass grave because of the violence that exists in those areas. So you see, despite all your personal problems, there are still other people that have far worse problems than you do, that is if you live in the general safety of these United States verses those that live in more depressed areas of the world.
Yet despite all those terrible areas in the world, people still thrive, populations still grow. Think of China where there is traditionally a lot of anti-God attitudes and a lot of false religions, yet their populations grow to the largest, more than any other area on the planet. People still survive despite a lot of the worst conditions for living.
So here in the US we should realize that we have far more opportunities than those folks. So yet another comparison. If God will still care for vast numbers of unbelieving peoples, then how much more will He do for positive believers in Christ, believers who are in compliance with His will, in fellowship, advancing toward spiritual maturity? A lot more!
How strong is your faith? Look around and evaluate your situation. Are you really in dire straits or are you just being a wimp with empty and frivolous worries?
Now is the time to post a prayer.
End Of Lesson
Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
