Lesson # Matt. 6:13a Study Material - Matt. 6:13a You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth. Matt. 6:13a 13 'And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.' Don't lead us falsely and keep us from evil. There are two opinions in this world. Have we heard this before? Those two opinions are, Gods, and then everything else. God leads in truth, in correct orientation to God himself, to the world, to life, to spirituality. God leads us in positive and proactive paths for our lives, toward the correct destiny and conclusion of our earthly lives, and into our eternal state. God teaches us, through His word, what is right and what is wrong, what will harm us and what will heal us, and what will make us weak and what will make us strong. God guides us in our decision making process for living our daily lives. God teaches us about human nature, about the nature of the bureaucracy of this world, about the weather and the nature of this planet, about our own thinking process, when it is working properly and when it has flaws. God leads us into our spiritual lives and toward the completeness of our existence - body, soul, and spirit together with the life resident in each one of them and the transition that is to come in the future at our own resurrection. The body has biological life to be replaced with a resurrection body with a life incorruptible. The soul has contamination of the influences of the sin nature (wood, hay, and stubble) to be burned way at the Judgment Seat of Christ. The human spirit suffers through negative volition of the believer as the Holy Spirit is rendered ineffective in the believer when the believer is out of fellowship to be replaced with permanent interaction of the Holy Spirit when the sin nature is eliminated at the death of the believer followed by the cleansing of the believer at the Judgment Seat of Christ. On the other hand, there is the opinion of this world. Some of it is an accurate interpretation of Gods creation - math, physics, weather trends, business concepts, economics and such things that correctly discover the true meaning of things in this universe and life. This even includes the correct discoveries and interpretations of the social sciences and psychology and such. So there is truth in this universe that can be discovered, academically, and used in life. But on the other hand human opinion also has various philosophies and interpretations that are incorrect such as: There is no God, all things evolved from mush not from design, the various beliefs of religions, you are what you eat, buy this product and find love or independence or prosperity or whatever. When separated from God and divine knowledge, then human opinion is influenced by the sin nature. The sin nature produces sin and human good. Both are products of the sin nature and since they are separated from God, they are called wickedness or the production of the sin nature, or the production of evil. Evil is the huge umbrella over the production of the sin nature - sin and human good. Evil is not simply limited to sin, but includes human good as well. Why good? Because there are two classes of good in this world. Divine good and human good. Divine good is the result of the production from a soul from the basis of Bible doctrine. Divine good therefore is from Gods wisdom in the believers soul. Human good is the result of any persons production, believer or unbeliever, from the soul on the basis of human knowledge. The sin nature influences human good. The Holy Spirit influences divine good. The influences of the sin nature are affected by the weakness of mankind - lusts, mental and physical instabilities, sins of all kinds, desires and so forth. The sin nature leads people into temptations, wanting what we do not have, controlling what we cannot control, driven by our motives and desires, and even our perceived needs, real or imagined. But the sin nature cannot satisfy nor fulfill our needs or wants. God provides for all our needs, and satisfies all our empty vacuum spaces in our souls and lives. God, through Bible study and spiritual growth, keeps us from temptation and all the related evils in life. If we know Bible doctrine then we can identify those things that can harm our lives, and thus avoid them. If we know Bible doctrine then we can identify those things that will help our spiritual life and embrace them, as well as identify those things that do not help our spiritual life and therefore ignore them. If we do not know Bible doctrine, then we are ignorant of the pitfalls of life and become easy prey for the traps of this world. Buy this prayer hanky, that has genuine prayer tears from the guru of the mission to God club! Do you know how many religious artifacts are sold in this world? Lots of people hold their little crosses, likes rabbits foots, in hopes that some miracle will deliver them from their problems. Nothing wrong with the jewelry, but its use in prayer or wishing is wasted effort. Things do not make your prayer life better. Location does not make your prayer life more effective. They can, however, lead you astray in the wrong direction and away from a correct spiritual life. Lead us not into temptation and deliver us from evil. The mechanism for fulfilling this request is in place. Fellowship and purity of heart, Bible study and orientation to life (spiritual maturity). This is Gods will and He will grant this request if we are positive and follow His commands. He has already given us the means, we have but to seize hold of them.
