You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.
Heb. 3:2-4
2 Who was [on] faithful [pistos] to him that appointed [poieo] him [autos], as [hos] also [kai] Moses [Moseus] was faithful in [en] all [holos] his [autos] house [oikos].
3 For [gar] this [houtos] man was counted worthy [axioo] of more [pleion] glory [doxa] than [para] Moses [Moseus], inasmuch as [kata] [hosos] he who hath builded [kataskeuazo] the house [oikos] hath more [pleion] honour [time] than [echo] the house [autos].
4 For [gar] every [pas] house [oikos] is builded [kataskeuazo] by [hupo] some [tis] man; but [de] he that built [kataskeuazo] all things [pas] is God [theos]. KJV-Interlinear
2 He was faithful to Him who appointed Him, as Moses also was in all His house. 3 For He has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses, by just so much as the builder of the house has more honor than the house. 4 For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God. NASB
Jesus Christ was faithful to the Father. Even though Christ is God Himself and co-equal, co-infinite, and co-eternal with the Father and the Spirit, this does not mean that Jesus is somehow inferior to the Father. They are equal in every aspect of their essence.
This relationship does however point to the Plan of God which was set out in eternity past. We call that plan the Divine Decrees.
This plan and relationship between he three members of the Godhead sets Christianity apart from all other religions and philosophies of the world, in that it is all Gods plan and all Gods work for the spiritual realm, and does not include anything that man does or imagines.
Thus Christianity becomes not a religion or philosophy, but it is a relationship with God through Christ. All other beliefs in the world either attempt to bypass Christ, or substitute some other means of access to the Father, or they simply reject God altogether.
We have studied the four major religions of history - Judaism rejects Christ, Islam substitutes another prophet, both Hinduism and Buddhism try to bypass God altogether, and all four reject the scriptures, substituting instead their own invented principles of life that range from the self righteousness of Judaism to the lusts of Islam, to the ascetic approaches of the last two.
The Greek mythical gods fought amongst each other, but there is unity between the Godhead of the Trinity. All members know of and accept the Divine Plan.
In eternity past God the Father looked down through the tunnel of time and considered all possible patters of history. Remember that God creates life. So when you were born, your were created instantly by God along with your soul, and they were both (soul and human life which resides in the soul) imputed into your physical body. Remember that your physical body contains biological life which is very different from human life which resides in he soul.
God could have inserted you into history at any point in time, but since you are alive right now, then God obviously placed you into history now rather than in another time in history. God maximizes the best possibilities for you. Now was your best chance for success in life as opposed to your living in another time.
When you get to heaven, you'll have to ask what would have been the circumstances of your life if you had lived in another time. You probably would not like the answer.
So, God considered all of the possibilities of placing people into history, along with all of the other factors of history, like weather, natural disasters and such. God chose the best possible combination of historical results for everyone, and that Plan became the Divine Decrees. God decreed it and so it is.
The Father authored the plan, and Jesus Christ executes that plan. Christ does not have an alternate plan of His own. He is therefore 'faithful' to the Father, as we see in our verse. He carries out the Divine Plan to the letter, which includes bringing in all persons at their designated time in history as well as fulfilling His role on the Cross.
By comparison, Moses we see here, was a great leader and prophet. Moses was one of the great people of history. Later we will see that Moses turned his back on the wealth of Egypt (which wealth was vast and beyond anything you could possibly dream) because he looked into heaven through that which he was taught by God, and he valued the blessings of heaven as far more valuable than all of the wealth of Egypt.
Moses is one of the few people with whom Christ (the pre-incarnate Christ) spoke, face to face.
Num. 12:7-8
7 'Not so, with My servant Moses, He is faithful in all My household; 8 With him I speak mouth to mouth, NASB
With virtually everyone else, communications came to them through dreams or visions.
Moses led a people through one of the most difficult times that any nation has ever gone through in history, and Moses stuck with that task. He wrote the first five books of the Bible. He had lots and lots of talks with God.
Moses was great and obedient and consistent in his life, but Moses was only a man (humanity) made of dust, just as you and I are. Christ is far superior than Moses.
When a home is constructed, the home may be magnificent, but the designer and builder are far more worth of credit. The home may be admired, but the builder is the one who is honored.
Moses was not the builder of a home, but was a part of a house, the nation of Israel, the body of believers. Jesus Christ is the builder of all of human history, and especially of the body of believers whom we call His Church or His nation.
Deut. 18:15-16
15 The LORD your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your countrymen, you shall listen to him. NASB
Christ came after the pattern of Moses in that he was faithful, and Christ is far greater than Moses in that He is God.
Man may construct many things in history, and man has to discover and to work, in order to be able to invent. But God is the real author, the real inventor, the real designer, of all things which never existed before history began.
Someone must be the founder of everything constructed and therefore is greater than everything in existence. Christ is the founder, 1 Cor 3:9, 1 Peter 2:5, and therefore is greater than the house He Himself constructed. He is greater than all that occupy the house. The ultimate founder is therefore worthy of honor, and glory results from honor.
No other philosophy, no other religion, no other pattern of thought can match that which Christ has accomplished.
Now is the time to post a prayer.
End Of Lesson
Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
