Hebrews 1:3
Lesson # Heb. 1:3
Study Material - Heb. 1:3
You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.
Heb. 1:3
3 And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high;
Every son of a man is a man. The son of God is God himself also. The son always assumes the nature of the father, ie. Human offspring are of the same gene as their parents. Monkeys do not bear humans. Horses do not bear fish. So much for evolution.
He, Jesus Christ, is the radiance of His Father (God the Father). We look at Jesus and we see the Father as well. Jesus is the only begotten Son of God. There are no other offspring. No daughters, no animals, no angels, no other humans, no other sons. Only one son comes from God and that son is Jesus Christ. So Allah, Buddha, the Pope, some king of old or even a current day leader of a nation or cult who fancied himself as a god (Pharaoh), Satan, who has been confused for a very long time, anyone else who thinks that he might have some god like blood in him. All these are false gods or falsely assume that they represent God personally, here on earth. They are all confused. Only Christ represents Himself here on earth, and through His written word. Any person who wishes to have a direct relationship with God, must do so through the person of Christ (salvation by faith, followed by learning Bible doctrine through fellowship). There are no representatives on earth that can or even have the right to represent you before God. None! There are those who might have some spiritual gift to teach you Bible doctrine, but that is as far as it goes - a qualified teacher. You being the student. But your relationship with God is direct and personal and private between you and God. Your access gate is Christ - who equals salvation - who equals Gods Word - who equals spiritual growth, etc.
Christ being the exact image of the Father, is He himself God. He is the radiance the Shechinah (the shining forth of divine splendor), the source of brilliance of deity. In His humanity, He is the representation of God in the flesh. By seeing the Son, we also see the Father.
He is omnipotent, upholding all things with His power, the word of His power. He is the sole creator of all things. Nothing that exists came from any other source.
He and He alone went to the cross and paid for price for our sins, and once this sacrifice and purification of our sins was accomplished, then Jesus Christ, a man, and God, ascended into heaven and most probably with a lot of fanfare and celebration, was given the highest honor of all, and was seated at the right hand of God the Father, awaiting His formal and final appointment, at the end of human history, as heir of the universe and all that exists.
Just a quick not now. After the Cross, Jesus was relegated into the grave for three full days, at the end of which He arose in a resurrected body. The first resurrection body of which type we as believers in this dispensation will receive an exact replica. Christ led a huge procession into heaven. All believers from the Old Testament days, from Adam to the time of Christ, who had died, were awaiting Christ in Paradise. Paradise was a compartment in the earth. One of four compartments in Hades. Torments, Tartarus, and the Abyss are the other three compartments.
Christ, as a leader, a general if you will, went to Paradise and gathered all the believers and led them to heaven in a victory parade. Just as generals would lead victory parades in Rome after they won great battles, so Christ led a victory parade from Paradise in earth, into a new Paradise in Heaven, where these Old Testament believers now await their own resurrection at the after the second advent.
One can only imagine the celebration, in heaven, of Christ's victory of the Cross and the subsequent events that followed. Just as the angels all sang together when the universe was created. Just as the angels celebrated at the birth of Christ, despite Satan's hovering like a dragon with the intent of destroying the child, but was held back by legions of angels. Just as this was probably a huge party as only heaven can throw, and now Jesus Christ awaits the unfolding of our current dispensation and the ultimate command from God for the cessation of the Church Age with the rapture. At which time there will be another big party - the wedding feast following the Judgment Seat of Christ, in heaven.
Now so what of all of this. The Bible is the word of God or it is not. This is a book of divine revelation, and therefore contains the truth regarding life and our future destinies and relationship with God, or it is just a book of fantasy. At some point the idea needs to become real in each one of our lives, and in our minds that this is important information that we need to learn and incorporate into our daily lives. That all the religions out there, all the various philosophies of science, of evolution, of some type of cult search for peace or oneness with whatever your wanting to be one with, all these are a big waste of time. They are all frauds. All designed to fool you and deceive you into a life and destiny of misery and loss of future reward.
Jesus Christ is God. Jesus Christ is the only source of all things, the only one who has the ability to create and to take away. The only one who can bless and to make whole. The only one who can make anything holy. That man does not have this power or privilege or right or authority. So all this holy water, or holy robes, or holy churches, or anything on earth that people consider as being holy, are not really holy at all. In fact the only holy thing on earth is the believer and this is because God has made the believer Holy through his faith in Christ. Holiness is the imputation of Gods righteousness and Gods justice into the believer at the point of the persons belief in Christ. Bible doctrine is holy. Doctrine in the soul is holy. The fellowship concept of being in the presence with God is a holy place. These are the only things that are holy. And much more than this. We, being mature believers in Christ, having advanced to maturity are representations of Gods glory, and therefore Glorify God, not ourselves. For it is His Word that produces this glory, not anything that we have or do from this world.
Jesus Christ is God. Jesus Christ is the written word. His word in us makes Him alive within us, in that we think His thoughts - Bible doctrine. Since Christ became a man, this then sets us up for our greatest potential promotion - union with Christ and joint heirs of the universe. Review the blessings list on the Bible Index page. This then allows us to replace angels who once could have had this privilege, but lost it.
Eternity is a long time. The things that God will provide for us in eternity are beyond our imagination. The adventure that will never truly end, begins when you start to take your Bible study serious. Often times people don't take their spiritual lives seriously. They just limp along in life sort of paying some attention to God, but not really. And it may be because that things just do not happen quickly enough. We are in a 'got to have it now' society. Everything is instant, drive up window, order today receive it tomorrow kind of life. But Bible study is a long drawn out process. Nothing seems to happen at all. We pray, we study, we wait, and wait, and wait. And then we wake up and discover that we are old, and wonder where our life went. We get lulled to sleep and into a deceptive negative attitude toward God, often without realizing it.
But in heaven right now is Christ. He has been sitting there waiting these nearly 2000 years for this dispensation to end. Really about 1971 years now. This being the single longest dispensation in history to date and will be the longest dispensation. If you think about it, the former dispensations lasted for shorter periods of time. From Adam to the flood was 1656 years. From the flood to the nation of Israel was about 900 years. From Moses time to Christ's time was about 1500 years, and now we are in our current Church Age about 1971 years into it, this being 2001 and the Cross (and Pentecost) was probably around 30 AD. The Tribulation will be only 7 years, and the Millennium will be 1000 years. That is it. We are the longest dispensation to date and no other age will be longer. And I would presume that we are near the end of our age also.
So, now is the time of decision. Actually every day is a time of repetitive decision. Christ's hand is on the lever of history, arm flexed tightly. At any moment He will throw it and we will roll quickly into the next aspect of our lives. Your physical life is on the edge too. You could live another 40 years or 40 minutes. Are you ready for the reality, the true reality of your eternal future? Or will you, as most people do, not really care about all of this, and just let it all float through your head sort of oblivious to it all.
Now is the time to post a prayer.
End Of Lesson
Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
