Galatians 4:6

http://www.dailybiblestudy.org

6 And [de] because [hoti] ye are [este] sons [huios], God [theos] hath sent forth [exapostello] the Spirit [pneuma] of his [autos] Son [huios] into [eis] your [humon] hearts [kardia], crying [krazo], Abba [Abba], Father [pater]. KJV-Interlinear

6 And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, "Abba! Father!"  NASB

In eternity past God established the divine plan, which we call the divine decrees.

In that plan, which encompasses every aspect of every circumstance of every person who will ever live in history, God set the stage for our ultimate destiny, which is to live in heaven with him as complete individuals and joint heirs, or owners, of the final new universe and heaven combined, forever.

Even though when we believe in Christ we are instantly saved, and many things happen simultaneously, there is a logical sequence in the order to the spiritual events that occur.

First, God set forth a promise. Second, God fulfilled that promise with Christ’s work on the cross. Third, that sets the stage for our becoming members of God’s family as adopted sons and heirs. Fourth, when we believe in Christ, that expression of faith establishes our status, or our rebirth as firstborn sons and heirs.

And here in our current verse we see that God the Holy Spirit is sent from God into us, to recognize us as God’s children, and sons within his family forever.

The Holy Spirit does many other things, but here the focus is on recognizing us as family of God, and more specifically as firstborn sons, comparable with Christ, and therefore in union with Christ, and therefore legitimate heirs of all that God the Father owns.

We know, and common sense dictates, that once an individual becomes a member of a family, then that membership is permanent. We also know, and common sense dictates, that when God makes a promise, he keeps it, and never ever changes it.

Therefore, God has made us members of his family, firstborn sons, heirs to all that he owns, and so that makes our salvation permanent and unchangeable.

There is nothing you can do, there is nothing anyone can do, that will remove you from the family of God, or take away your salvation from you.

Once saved always saved. Once born you cannot unborn yourself. Once born again, you still cannot unborn yourself. Once you have acquired a promise from God, no one can take it away from you.

You cannot lose your salvation, you cannot give away your salvation, you cannot deny your salvation and make it go away, once you have been saved.

At the very moment you expressed faith in Christ, then God the Holy Spirit entered into you, and in so doing cried out in your behalf, designating you as family and son and heir of God.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
