5 To whom
<hos> be glory <doxa> for <eis> ever <aion> and ever.
<aion> Amen. <amen> KJV-Interlinear
5 to whom
be the glory forevermore. Amen. NASB
Here is a comment made in indignation, when compared with the remainder of the message that is going to be made in this passage.
The indignation is in the hearers, or rather their lack of interest and certainly their lack of enthusiasm pertaining to God and truth and doctrine and everything that holds and connects and sustains life in any and all forms and details.
The underlying presumption here is that the indifferent or arrogant listener presumes a superior knowledge or understanding of life. And of course no one can know more or understand more than God.
There is no glory or credit or acknowledgment for anyone other than God.
Man is nothing more than life, which is created by God, inserted into dust.
Dust being the chemicals of the world, into which God imputed biological life, and into that life, God then again imputes human life, making that dust an understanding and thinking dust.
Who among humans can accomplish that? And of course, no one despite our extensive scientific knowledge, can pick up a pile of dust and form it into a living breathing thinking human being.
But still people presume themselves as pretty smart, even smarter than God.
This verse however, makes it very clear that there is no one worthy of credit or glory, other than Jesus Christ.
