2 Peter
Introduction
The second book of
Peter, was written while Peter was probably still living in Babylon.Although the place of writing is
uncertain.In this book, Peter continues
the theme of the previous book as a reminder that though believers will suffer
in many and various forms, they should keep with the faith, endure, and wait
patiently on Gods plan to unfold for them.
Probably written in
the late sixties A.D., shortly after the first letter was written, and probably
shortly before his death around 68 A.D., 2 Peter was written as an
encouragement and as a reminder to believers to hold on to their faith and
doctrine, especially during their time of suffering and adversity. Thus, the first letter was a book covering suffering,
this book in one of reminder.
