7 And for this I was appointed a
preacher and an apostle (I am telling the truth, I am not lying)
as a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth. NASB
Evangelistic prayer,
introducing unbelievers to the gospel of Christ is a fundamental principle of
Christianity.
Pauls primary role in life was to bring the gospel as
well as doctrine and spiritual growth, to the gentiles.
The word for preacher, kerux, means herald or instructor. Apostle means messenger. Teacher means instructor. Therefore, Paul was a messenger from God,
proclaiming the good news of the gospel of Christ, teaching the doctrines of Christ,
and this doctrine is truth.
Paul as also the other apostles, did not proclaim any other religions or belief systems. They promoted Christianity only, because
Christianity is truth, and there is no other truth in any other religion.
The foundation and
fundamental objective of Christianity is two-fold, and that is to bring
unbelievers to salvation through faith, and then once saved, to bring believers
to spiritual maturity through truth.
For the non-Christian
world, there is only one question, What do you think of Christ? It is the single question that makes the difference
between spending eternity in Heaven, or spending
eternity in the Lake of Fire.Between
the two, there exists an infinite difference.
For the Christian
world, there exists a daily question, What do you think of doctrine? It is the repetitive question that makes the
difference between being an immature believer, verses a mature believer. Since all believers go to heaven, the
difference here is in the level of eternal blessings and rewards received. That difference likewise is an infinite
difference.
Unfortunately, the vast
majority of believers never grow up in their spiritual lives. They spend their time pursuing their own
entertainment or socializing, verses a daily study of the scriptures.
Just as teenagers,
might attend school and focus on their social life, never studying, and never
learning, then they leave school unprepared, and uneducated. Then they do not know what went wrong.
So too, believers spend
their life focused on the social side of Christianity, or on the social side of
any part of their life. They do not
focus on the day to day studying, that spiritual growth demands.
So, what happens when
they graduate from this world?They
arrive before Christ unprepared, uneducated, and unproductive.
Paul wrote nearly half
of the New Testament.And
why?Did he write it so you could
quote a verse every now and then?Did he
write it so you could feel good during the holidays? No.
Paul wrote these many
letters so you could study them, and learn, and grow
up to be the fullest possible, most complete person that you can possibly
become.However, this growth requires
study through instruction, and a dedicated attitude toward your daily studies,
everyday of your life.No
exceptions.No vacations away from
doctrine.
God has a plan for your
life, and that plan includes phenomenal blessings, but you must advance to
spiritual maturity in order to receive them.
No advancement, no blessings.The
difference, between the blessing package for an immature believer and a mature
believer, is infinite. That is a lot to
throw away for the convenience of indifference, or laziness, or social focus
only, in ones life.
This Bible study is written
daily, so that you can have the opportunity to grow up to be the most that you
can possibly be.
It is up to you to
decide just how important Gods mandates are, verses your own priorities.
