Final Prayers
John 17:24-26

24 Father [pater] , I will [thelo] that [hina] they also [kakeinos] , whom [hos] thou hast given [didomi] me [moi] , be [o] with [meta] me [emou] where [hopou] I [ego] am [eimi] ; that [hina] they may behold [theoreo] my [emos] glory [doxa] , which [hos] thou hast given [didomi] me [moi] : for [hoti] thou lovedst [agapao] me [me] before [pro] the foundation [katabole] of the world [kosmos] .
25 [kai] O righteous [dikaios] Father [pater] , the world [kosmos] hath [ginosko] not [ou] known [ginosko] thee [se] : but [de] I [ego] have known [ginosko] thee [se] , and [kai] these [houtos] have known [ginosko] that [hoti] thou [su] hast sent [apostello] me [me] .
26 And [kai] I have declared [gnorizo] unto them [autos] thy [sou] name [onoma] , and [kai] will declare [gnorizo] it: that [hina] the love [agape] wherewith [hos] thou hast loved [agapao] me [me] may be [o] in [en] them [autos] , and I [kago] in [en] them [autos] . KJV-Interlinear

24 'Father, I desire that they also, whom Thou hast given Me, be with Me where I am, in order that they may behold My glory, which Thou hast given Me; for Thou didst love Me before the foundation of the world. 25 'O righteous Father, although the world has not known Thee, yet I have known Thee; and these have known that Thou didst send Me; 26 and I have made Thy name known to them, and will make it known; that the love wherewith Thou didst love Me may be in them, and I in them. ' NASB

Jesus has prayed for our preservation through eternal life which we will receive with our faith expression (when we believe) in Christ. He prayed for our sanctification or our separation from this world and its hold over us through sin and death, which (sanctification) we also receive through faith in Christ. Jesus has prayed for our unification which we receive through the common doctrine found in the scriptures.

He continues in His prayer, that believers (whom thou hast given Me) from every generation, will be with Him (in heaven) forever, and ever. That believers will place themselves freely of their own volition, in fellowship and therefore under the control of the Holy Spirit, so that, they will be able to see His glory - the truth in Bible doctrine.

This same doctrine which originated from the Father in eternity past (before the foundation of the world). This same doctrine which has never changed nor been altered. Upon which all can rely because it is truth and stable and immutable.

'Righteous Father,' is a reference to His perfection and purity. No sin, no flaw, no defect of any kind, no mistake nor miscalculation has ever been ascribed to God.

That which is impure (the world) cannot know that which is pure. That which resides in darkness cannot see the truth nor orient to anything that is true. Gods Word is the only source of light in the spiritual realm. Absence of light means absolute and total darkness.

But Christ knows the Father, and those who have received His Word, know the Father as well as the Son. For there is no other means of knowing God, but through His Word. Thus all other beliefs in this world do not gain anyone access to God, but in fact lead people away from God and deeper into the pit of doom. Not a good thing for folks.

God possesses a prefect love. One that is not complicated with emotion, nor the confusion of deception and uncertainty. This same love (agape) is made available to each person, as Jesus herein prays for just that. That all who believe in Him (believers) , that all who are positive toward Him and reside in fellowship and are advancing toward spiritual maturity, and are in compliance with His commands, that these will be the recipients of His perfect love, of His perfect stability, or His perfect happiness, of true and genuine prosperity, for all of these things are wrapped up in the love of God.

The all important key to the spiritual life is through Christ and through doctrine, and that is available to anyone who is willing to try to learn, and to stick with their daily Bible study throughout their life.
