Truth Cries Out
John 12:46-50

46 I [ego] am come [erchomai] a light [phos] into [eis] the world [kosmos] , that [hina me] whosoever [pas] believeth [pisteuo] on [eis] me [eme] should [meno] not [hina me] abide [meno] in [en] darkness [skotia] .
47 And [kai] if [ean me] any man [tis] hear [akouo] my [mou] words [rhema] , and [kai] believe [pisteuo] not [ean me] , I [ego] judge [krino] him [autos] not [ou] : for [gar] I came [erchomai] not [ou] to [hina] judge [krino] the world [kosmos] , but [alla] to [hina] save [sozo] the world [kosmos] .
48 He that rejecteth [atheteo] me [eme] , and [kai] receiveth [lambano] not [me] my [mou] words [rhema] , hath [echo] one that judgeth [krino] him [autos] : the word [logos] that [hos] I have spoken [laleo] , the same [ekeinos] shall judge [krino] him [autos] in [en] the last [eschatos] day [hemera] .
49 For [hoti] I [ego] have [laleo] not [ou] spoken [laleo] of [ek] myself [emautou] ; but [alla] the Father [pater] which sent [pempo] me [me] , he [autos] gave [didomi] me [moi] a commandment [entole] , what [tis] I should say [epo] , and [kai] what [tis] I should speak [laleo] .
50 And [kai] I know [eido] that [hoti] his [autos] commandment [entole] is [esti] life [zoe] everlasting [aionios] : whatsoever [hos] I [ego] speak [laleo] therefore [oun] , even as [kathos] the Father [pater] said [ereo] unto me [moi] , so [houto] I speak [laleo] . KJV-Interlinear

46 'I have come as light into the world, that everyone who believes in Me may not remain in darkness. 47 'And if anyone hears My sayings, and does not keep them, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world. 48 'He who rejects Me, and does not receive My sayings, has one who judges him; the word I spoke is what will judge him at the last day. 49 'For I did not speak on My own initiative, but the Father Himself who sent Me has given Me commandment, what to say, and what to speak. 50 'And I know that His commandment is eternal life; therefore the things I speak, I speak just as the Father has told Me.' NASB

Jesus Christ is our access to God (the Father). When we look at Jesus, we see the Father. They are both one in essence and co-equal as we discussed yesterday.

God makes himself known in the person of Christ, 2 Cor 4:6, and Jesus Christ is the express image of His (the Father) person, Heb 1:3.

Jesus further explains in this passage, that it is not He who will judge us. That is to say, He will not judge us from a source which is not consistent with the Word of God. He does not represent Himself apart from the Father and the Spirit. Jesus does not have His own agenda, as other religions would imply that their foundation in the hereafter is based on some humanly defined plan, and of which is subject to change from time to time, and implied that it came from God. That is to say, we as humans can change our future.

This last statement is true, but when used by religion it is used in the context apart from Gods plan, so it becomes subtly deceiving and thus false.

We can change our future, by changing our attitude toward God and our spiritual life obviously. We can either comply with Gods plan and gain great blessings, or we can ignore it or recognize it in some modified way, and receive fewer blessings if any. In that respect we can determine our future.

What we cannot change or determine for ourselves is how God will use us in this life. But rest assured if you comply with His plan, then your life will be far better than you could ever do for yourself. And, if you ignore God, then your life will be far more miserable than you could ever imagine.

Our first concern is recognizing the truth, and for that purpose, Jesus Christ came into the world to bring the 'light' or truth. Life is not just an eight to five job, retirement, weekend social activities and such. Life is your spiritual makeup or lack thereof.

There is a God. There is a devil. Satan would prefer to do anything he wants which rejects God and permits him to destroy at will. Not a good thing in the long run. God created man to resolve the differences between God and Satan, and to demonstrate once and for all that God has a better plan than Satan.

We are born and we will one day die. We cannot perpetuate our own life into eternity. We do not have that ability. So once we die, then who will support us? Our bodies are left behind to rot and we have nothing but our soul and spirit and no vessel to hold our essence. Do we just free float aimlessly in the universe? No, we need some power capable of putting us back into another body for eternity. And, preferably we need a good power to support us in eternity rather than a bad power where we will be lost forever.

So we have a choice. We can believe that there is something going on in this universe which is greater than we are, and we can seek to discover what they greater thing is, or we can try to invent from our own imagination what we believe is truth, and then follow that course.

And Jesus Christ gives us all of the proof we need (Bible doctrine) in order to come to our conclusion of just what truth is, and therefore decide correctly.

He did not bring His own plan, but He brought a plan which was agreed to by the members of the Trinity in eternity past. He does not judge us based on some arbitrary or frivolous bias of His own, but we are judged based on the written word of God which has remained the same since eternity past.

The Father, the Son, and the Spirit all speak from the same play book. There is but one plan, one God, one truth. All the religions and philosophies of the world did not come from God, nor do they represent truth.
