There are two objectives of bible study. The first is to bring an unbeliever to the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ so that he has the opportunity to believe in Him and therefore become saved. The second is to advance the believer, someone who has already believed in Jesus Christ, to the point of spiritual maturity. It's that simple. An unbeliever lives a life no better than an animal. His future is based on the law of the jungle. If he has position, money, power, or any of those things that so many in the world strive to gain for themselves, then he perceives that he is well off. Unfortunately his life comes to an end sooner or later. Over that, the end of his life, he has no control. Likewise what happens after his death. Eternal condemnation, eternal separation from God, whom he has rejected, eternal pain and suffering in the Lake of Fire. Not a good thing to have waiting for you. God created the universe and all that is in it, and since God holds it all together, then anyone who rejects God implies that they can do without Him. If God is the glue that holds the paper together and you reject the glue, then you are nothing but sawdust without any kind of bonding agent. All unbelievers miss this point, thinking that the world around them, the world that they see, hear, touch, smell, is all there is. They are short sighted never realizing that they did not create their own life nor can they postpone their inevitable death. So in all eternity their short life of perhaps 80 or 90 years, if they are so lucky to live that long, is nothing in the grand scheme of things. The believer, on the other hand, has everything to gain, but that too is only a potential. One has to advance to maturity, and the choice there is to study and learn the Word of God, or to not study and not learn. A believer who rejects learning is no better off than the unbeliever in this life. Actually he is worse off because since he is a believer and in the family of God, he is subject to Gods discipline as well as the law of the jungle of this world so to speak. Once death takes the believer he of course goes to heaven, which the unbeliever misses out on, but while living on this earth the believer who rejects learning and therefore doesn't grow spiritually misses out on tremendous opportunities of being blessed by God while in this life, something that God very much wants to do for us all. Also, after death, the only thing you take with you is the content of your soul. If you have learned bible doctrine, then your soul has in it something of intrinsic value i.e. gold, silver, and precious stones (all bible doctrine which you have learned), for which you will be rewarded in heaven when you get there. If your soul has no bible doctrine in it, then you have wood, hay and stubble. Things that will be burned away when your soul is cleansed. Don't worry you won't be hurt, except perhaps tremendously embarrassed, but you won't have anything to show for your life while here on this earth, and therefore no rewards in heaven. except for your resurrection body which everyone gets. The believer who pursues bible doctrine and learns, and grows and advances to maturity is in the ultimate position to enjoy and endure all that life has to offer. As you learn and grow God will test your metal with the pressures of life. The more you learn and grow, the more God will throw at you. Why? Because this demonstrates to the world and all of creation, which includes angels created long ago, both fallen and saved, that God is the only answer to all the problems of life, that only God can make things work out for the good, and that anytime God is rejected, then everything falls apart. God will also provide much more blessing than you can imagine. Blessing comes in many forms. It isn't only money. After death then the believer who has Bible doctrine in his soul receives tremendous blessings in eternity that the believer without this soul content will miss out on. That is the long and short of it. The easy part is learning Bible doctrine and advancing to maturity. You don't really have to do anything except be positive and want to learn. God does all the rest. If you listen, read, or whatever, to the teaching of the Word of God, then God will channel that Biblical information through your human spirit and into your soul, and the construction process of assembling a life on a solid foundation of Bible doctrine within your soul happens automatically. From this foundation, God will lead you through your life through this Bible doctrinal content that you will possess in your soul. Once you have read this, then if you are interested, you should read the 'Process' next, to see and understand how Bible doctrine gets into your soul in the correct way. God sets out certain rules that we have to follow. Apart from those rules or guidelines we can't function, but within those rules you will sail through life. End Of Lesson Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth. Please Make Your Donation Here |
